"Can I have a piggy back ride now?" Andie asks with a wide grin.

"For the last time!! No! Get the hell off!" Plutus snarls before he chucks Andie forward off his back. The raven haired girl just giggles hysterically as she flips around, the liquid-like substance around them preventing any real damage.

"Awe, come on hon', you know you love me~" Andie coos, only to suddenly stop herself mid-flip, ending upside down. Her eyes go wide as she looks over to Plutus, though they're focused more on something behind him.

"Hey Plut-tus- There's uhh, a wh-whale?" She stammers in shock, only to be met with a scowl from her district partner.

"Andie it didn't work last time, it's not going to work now. There's no goddamn wh...ale..." His exasperated sentence trails off as a loud whale call resonates through the entire arena, shaking them to their bones.

Instantly Plutus' eyes widen and he whips around, startled to find she'd been right. Swimming towards them is a huge baleen whale, it's blue sides covered and lit up by pastel barnacles that glow in a neon luminescence. Even with this beauty, the enormous creature is still terrifying.

Andie seems paralyzed in an mixture of awe and fear. "What do we d--"

"Swim!!" Plutus exclaims, back pedaling and turning to swim away from the approaching sea creature. Andie's eyes widen before she flips again and latches onto his ankle, pulling herself up to catch up with him.

While both of them swim frantically, the whale catches up to them with only two strokes of its giant tail. The tributes of One swim faster as it opens its enormous jaws, the creature striking panic into them. They already know there's no escape now, however.

The whale sucks the galactic water around them into its mouth with one giant gulp, catching the two in the flow and sucking them right past its huge bristle teeth. They are left tumbling and struggling even after the creature starts to close its mouth again, leaving them with no time to orient themselves before its jaws snap closed and they're trapped.

Freaking out, Andie expects them to be caught in darkness as soon as its jaws shut. Instead she finds the warm space light up by a turquoise light, coming from somewhere above them. She tries to look around for it, but she finds her vision stinging and blurry. Whatever silvery substance they're in feels like they're trying to see through chlorine, and like salt is being rubbed against their skin.

"This is your fault..." Plutus' sudden growl snaps Andie out of her observations.

"Excuse me?? I tried to warn you as soon as I saw it! If anything it's your fault!" She retorts defensively.

As her eyes adjust to the new substance they're in, Andie can see the boy's expression better, though it still stings slightly every time she blinks. Plutus scowls at her and opens his mouth to snarl back something sardonic, when he suddenly shuts it again, his eyes focused on something behind her.

"Turn around." He states, staring past her.

Andie scoffs. "No way. I see what you're doing, this is to-"

"TURN AROUND." He commands fiercely and grabs her shoulders to whirl her around.

Andie gives a squeak before she begrudgingly looks around the dimly lit space, searching for what could possibly bother him. There's the giant tongue below them and the roof of the whale's mouth above them, along with the teal freckles that decorate the sides of its mouth, providing a little more light.

Thoroughly confused, Andie remains sceptical of Plutus' panic until, of course, she sees them. She has to blink at first, thinking it's just her imagination, but her eyes widen in surprise as soon as she realizes it's not. Staring back at them are ten other eyes; glistening in a silent curiosity under the turquoise light above.
