_Butterfly_

Imprisoned inside

His purple jar,

Unable to escape.

The butterfly

Is trapped.

His enchantment

And wonder

Is worth nothing

Compared to her freedom.

Gentle, feathered, toxic wings

Flutter frantically,

In a desperate attempt

To shatter the glass

And evade her terrible fate.

Wishing for deliverance,

She pounds against the glass,

The beating of

Her soft, dark wings

Doing nothing

To fracture the

Crystal walls.

She sadly retreats

To the base of the jar

Wallowing in wretched despair.

She'll never be free.
