I had one job; to grab the ring off Caden's finger

I had one job; to grab the ring off Caden's finger. It would have been much easier if he wasn't wearing a ring, but he was. It was the first thing I realized when I saw him again the fourth period for gym. I ignored him during history class, I needed to clear my mind.

But that didn't seem to help, my mind had a built-in tornado that jumbled my thoughts and made it harder to focus. I needed to take it off, that was it. If he was a vampire, his fast moves would result in me dying, most likely.

    I just hope he isn't.

After getting changed into black sweatpants and a white t-shirt, I walked to the field where the majority of the class already was. The teacher babbled on about running five laps and then playing frisbee. I have never played frisbee.

"Hey," I approached Alice who was running at a steady pace. Caden was ahead of us, running with some of his lacrosse buddies.

    "Hey," Alice said.

"What happened to you at lunch? Are you okay?" I asked. If Alice was a witch, maybe she could help me with Caden, and Kai. But my brothers told me not to get involved.

"Yeah, it was nothing. My head just started pounding and my stomach suddenly felt bad." Alice kept a straight face. "It might be that time of the month."

"Are you okay now?" She nodded.

    "Did you and Caden ever-"

"God no, we barely talked before today. He's attractive, but he's not my type. Plus, I'm pretty sure he's into you." Alice said.

"Into me? We haven't even known each other for a day," I said.

At first, Kol and I were attracted to each other physically; but we never liked each other right away. Our love blossomed from getting to know each other.  It's the time we invested in each other that makes him important and precious to me.

"I could be wrong," she shrugged.

"That's too weird," I said. "But you know what's odder? The subject Noah brought up in history class today." I couldn't help bring up the topic of the supernatural because I wanted to see her reaction. If she was a witch, she could help me with Kai.

"The supernatural?" She asked. Alice's expression was blank.

"Yeah, I thought you weren't paying attention in class."

    "I was," she heaved.

"Do you believe in that?" I asked. "The supernatural I mean."

"There are so many things in the world we have yet to discover, things we don't know and will never know."

I was about to ask her to give me a clear answer, but the gym teacher blew his whistle to signal us to regroup in the middle of the field. Her answer may not be clear, but she did not deny it. She was ominous in the way she responded, Alice chose her words carefully as if she were to say the wrong words it would have messed something up.
