Sang made her way off the field over to Silas. He gave her a big smile and pulled her into a hug. "You cheated, Aggelle Mou" his breath tickled her ear as he spoke.
Her face reddened a little, "You all took your jerseys off and I didn't complain how distracting it was, besides I was hot too." She huffed.
Silas rubbed his hand over her back, "You're not just hot Aggele, you are a goddess." Sang was now acutely aware that the two of them were shirtless.
"BABY, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?!" was yelled across the field before an angry North stormed over to them.
He tugged Sang out of Silas' arms and held her at arm's length so he could assess the damage. He looked between the two of them and shook his head before pulling a cloth out of his pocket to wipe the paint from Sang's stomach. It had smeared everywhere when Silas had hugged her. He then chucked the cloth at Silas, "You've got paint all over you, doofus."
North turned his attention back to Sang and ran a hand over her ribs. She winced when he touched the spot she had been hit. North's eyebrows furrowed before he turned and looked around. "DOC, WE NEED YOU OVER HERE".
"It's not that bad, North Star. It's just a bruise, the same as you have." Sang brought her hand up to his face and guided him back to look into her eyes.
North shut his own eyes and took a deep breath keeping his hands on her shoulders. "I don't want to see you hurt, baby. I want to keep you safe."
"I am safe. I had fun, I am having fun. Please North Star, I'm going to get bruised occasionally and I will get hurt. It will be okay. Besides if I never get hurt, how can you kiss it better?" She grinned at the last statement hoping that he would do just that when they went home later.
Sean made his way over to the pair. He grinned at Sang before turning to North, "You bellowed?"
North grunted "Can you check Sang over?"
Sean tilted his head, his eyes roaming over Sang's body. "Pookie, you look perfect to me," he winked "we'll all need to use some of that cream tonight for our bruises."
Sang grinned "Thank you Dr. Sean" she grabbed North's hand and pulled him back to their base to prepare for the next point.
North reluctantly followed until they reached their teammates. He took a look around and started giving orders.
"Luke, re gas the guns. Gabe, check everyone for paint and wipe them down if needed. Sang baby, help me make sure everyone has enough pods in their packs. Mr. B, can you fill the hoppers after Luke has re gassed the guns? Whoever wins this next point, wins the game, we need to make them work for it."
Everyone set to work and soon they were ready to take the field again. Luke handed Sang her gun and put his arm around her shoulder. "Having fun, Sugar?"
"So much fun! I don't think North will want me to play too often though" she sighed.
Luke chuckled "Don't worry. I won't let him put you in a bubble just yet. Now let's focus on beating the other guys."
The timer started counting down to start and both teams stood with their guns on the wall, ready to run.
3...2...1.... The buzzer sounded, loud against the silence. Everyone lifted their guns and started shooting as they ran, slid and dove behind their bunkers.
"Kill 1."
Sang wasn't sure who had been shot but took a breath as she looked around. Luke was making his way to the next bunker so she brought her gun around and provided cover for him. No one was willing to shoot him because it would mean they would be in Sang's line of fire.
Owen was working on taking out Sean. If Sean shot him he'd never hear the end of it. Sang had proven that she could take care of herself, however he couldn't help appreciate the view he had of her as she crawled up snake side. Part of being a snake player meant that you had to keep low and wriggle on the ground to move into position. The bunkers weren't high enough to allow anything else. He would have to commend North later for teaching Sang such good technique. Owen blinked realising where he was. He was allowing himself to be distracted when he was supposed to be shooting his best friend.
He paused in his shots and waited a moment for Sean to poke his head out. He was certain he would, he'd played enough games with him to know where his weaknesses were. Sure enough the edge of Sean's mask came around to check the field. Owen fired his gun and watched as the paintball splattered on Sean's mask, causing paint to cover his lens while his blonde curls now had a hint of green paint.
The corner of his mouth raised a millimetre before he called out "Kill 2" and focussed his attention back down the field. Mr. Korba was opposite Mr. Taylor in the back centre, Mr. Griffin looked to be on the dorito side, and he could not see where Mr. Lee was.
He relayed the positions to the rest of his teammates whilst aiming his gun towards Silas. Owen hoped by providing extra cover someone would be able to move closer and remove another opponent.
