I lean back in my chair as Tiffany, who's sitting across from me, groans. I've never had eaten this much food in my life. Letting out a satisfied sigh, I once more thank Annabeth.
" I'm gonna take a quick stroll," I smile.
" Don't be gone for too long," Annabeth and Percy say at the same time.
" I won't ! Jut gonna burn off some calories !" I laugh.
" I'll come with you !" Tiffany grins.
I hold the door open for her before mouthing to Annabeth and Percy :
" Thank you !" Closing the door behind me, I skip outside. The sky is a beautiful blue, and no clouds can be seen. The sun is dandelion yellow, and the lime green grass is cut short. I sound so nerdy. Everyone here seems so nice. I'm not looking where I'm going and walk straight into a man.
" Sorry !" I mutter.
" It's fine little girl," the man laughs. He has curly tuffs of hair, and his easy-going nature practically radiates. I would've liked him if he hadn't called me little girl. I'm eighteen for Pete's sake !
" My name is Nikki," I huff," not little girl."
" The names Leo," he laughs. " Is that your friend ?"
I completely forgot about Tiffany. She's obviously trying to hold in a laugh, her lips pressed together, but smiling at the same time.
" I'm Tiffany," she manages.
" Hi Tiffany ! Welcome to -"
" Leo ! Stop bothering those poor girls !" A woman calls, smiling.
" But Calypso !" He pouts.
" Leave these kids alone," she fake - frowns. " Or your not getting dinner tonight !"
" You wouldn't do that !"
" Really ?" She raises an eyebrow, something that I've never been able to master.
" Bye Tiffany, bye Nikki !" He grins, waving his hand as Calypso drags him away, lecturing him about helping with chores.
" Bye !" Tiffany laughs.
And then we continue walking and talking, oblivious to the bushes crinkling behind us.
