Chapter 6

Jasper's POV.

I heard her heartbeat speed up before I heard her try to stand up. I couldn't help but chuckle as I heard her steps falter. As I made my way towards her I couldn't be more happy with how Alice, Emmett and Rose went hunting, I swear it was on the behalf of Alice but I was glad.

I heard her intake of breath and at that moment I knew she had seen my collection of books; I knew how much she loved to read and I was pretty proud of the collection myself. I opened the door and just stood there for a moment looking over the damage that I could see. Her arms had taken the worse of the collision with me but I was still shocked about how badly bruised they were. Sure I remembered her once telling Edward how easily she bruised but I guess I never imagined how bad until now. I felt bad about it but if I didn't do it, she would most likely be dead, and that thought terrifies me.

I caught myself walking closer towards her and I was 1 step away when I felt it, her curiosity. I always loved the fact that Bella Swan was a curious creature and through all my years, I never realised how true the comment 'curiosity killed the cat' but it could never be more correct when describing the amazing creature In front of me, her curiosity could get her into the worst of situations. I couldn't help the chuckle bubbling in my throat and was shocked at the amount of bloodlust I felt at that moment, with how fast her heart was beating and the way she smelled, being this close should be troubling but no; I felt absolutely fine, nothing. I saw her turn and I stepped up to her, she was looking down and I couldn't have that.This amazing creature should never have to look down to me. As I tilted her head up, I caressed her cheek. I let out another chuckle and saw her white skin start to turn red. The heat against my palm was amazing and I couldn't help but let out a breathe.

"Open your eyes Darlin,"

my accent came out a bit stronger then I had intended but I still got the desired effect.

I heard the gasp before I fell into the depths of the brown of her eyes. "Jasper," my name escaped her mouth and it shocked me on how fast she moved. She had her arms around my neck and her face tucked into my chest. I reached out to her emotions to see how she was feeling and all I could detect was the elation that I could see on her face, well that and shock but I couldnt blame her; how often do you end up in the room of the one person who had tried to kill her on her birthday, a mear 3 weeks ago.

I felt her sudden worry before she went to jump away from me, there was a smile on my face and I couldnt help the happiness flowing out of me, I didn't realise I was projecting until I felt her giggle into my chest, at that moment I realise how it must feel for her and jumped back onto the other side of the bed.

"Bella, Darlin im so sorry, I cant believe that I just did that, you must be terrified of me as I tried to kill you, I mean..."

she managed to cut me off before I could continue with a giggle. A smile appeared on my face before I could help it. I hadn't heard her giggle in the last 3 weeks that I had been watching her and I had managed to capture 2 in the past five minutes, if that.

"Jasper, feel my emotions, what are they telling you?"

I let myself feel her emotions and was shocked at what she felt, there was no fear, only trust, happiness and giddiness.

"I never blamed you Jasper, you're an empath, I was the one that got a papercut in front of a family of vampires and you had to cope with the consequences, you had to deal with 6 other people's bloodlust above your own, and I was Edwards singer."

I couldnt believe what she was saying, this amazing creature realised something that non of the family realised including me, I wasn't the weak link.

I could feel the fully fledged grin on my face as a ran over to her, taking her into my arms before spinning her around and hugging her to my chest, making sure that she was able to breathe.

"I now realise it was you in my rooms 3 weeks ago as well, I thought it was Edward at first but it was you," I could feel the happiness that she was giving out and it was affecting my own. I thought that I couldnt get any happier with her in my arms and I was confused. As I pulled away from the hug I couldnt help the laugh as I saw her face, she was pouting and it was one of the most cutest things that I had seen for a while.

"Naw Darlin don't be like that, we have plenty of time," I decided to finish with a wink and she turned firetruck red.

"Crap, Jasper im so sorry, I cant believe I was so reckless,"

I was confused until she took a few steps back, and that's when it clicked, she was worried about my bloodlust.

"Being this close must be horrible for you, I knew that it was for Edward."

I walked straight up to her and placed my head in her neck and took a big breathe in, not only breathing it is but tasting it as well,

"Darlin, you smell delightful, but I have no desire to eat you" on the last word I gently bit her neck making sure not to break the skin.

I was met with a giggle and I smiled before walking over to the bed and pulling the covers down, making room for her. I gestured to the bed as I stood there and she got the message as she walked over and slid beneath the covers. She looked up at me as I tucked her into bed,

"Darlin, I get that you have some questions and I will answer them in the morning, but first you need to rest. I promise I will be here as you wake up."

As I took my place on the other side of the bed, my back up against the headboard and with a book in my hand I look down at her,

"Im not going anywhere Isabella, your safe with me,"

she looked up and smiled before she hesitated on something,

"Sweetie, im not gonna bite, you don't need to worry about me,"

at my words she came over and lied against me, before she fell straight to sleep. I smiled down at the girl next to me and turned back to my book, not able to take the smile of my face; she finally knew she wasn't alone, she finally knew I was here for her.

I know I haven't updated for a while but the first part of the exams for the term are finally over and I have more time upon my hands.
