My Major

Chapter 10

Jasper's POV

Leaving her alone without anyone there to protect her would have had to be one of the hardest things I have had to do. It's not that I don't trust her to be alone but I've had a bad feeling recently and my instincts are screaming at me, telling me that if I leave something horrible will happen.

I asked Alice if she had seen anything happen and I got a negative reply. The others had convinced me to go out to hunt considering it had been a while. If I had stayed any longer I would have put my angel in danger.

She was sleeping when I left, I made sure that this was so, so that my absence wouldn't feel as long....for her. Even thought it will still feel like an eternity for me and for the next day I felt like everything could be okay.

I was with my family, having fun and messing around. Seeing who could catch the biggest prey. Emmett went straight for the bears, but who could blame him, one tried to kill him while he was human. I think I would hold
a grudge against them too. Rose was laughing at her mate and you could see how happy she was with her life even though she hated what we were, I knew that she wouldn't change anything with how she was now. She may wish for a child but we are the happiest when we were with our mates.

Bella.

The gorgeous specimen that was waiting for me at home. The way that her eyes sparkle while laughing, the way that she unconsciously moves while I do so. The way that she was built exactly for me and het she still doesn't know. I've seen that way that she has managed to get over Edward, the way that she's smiling a lot more now or the fact that she's starting to have feelings for me and she's confused with how they are so strong in such little time. I've loved her for a while now, I mean everything that I do is to protect her.

While thinking I have unconsciously started heading back home and the others have just followed with a smile on their faces, understanding how I am feeling. I laugh as I run, thinking that today is the day that I will tell her everything. How I feel, what our future may look like, I know I want her with me for the rest of my eternity; but if she no longer wants to be an immortal I will surely follow her till the end of her life and finish mine soon after.

I mean it's not what I want, yet the stories that I have heard detailing the pain that one goes through after loosing their mate is nothing that I want to experience. It's meant to be 10x more painful than changing. You apparently feel empty inside with no meaning of life anymore. And that is something that I do not want. She is my everything and I will do everything in my power...

My trail of thought is broken by my phone ringing. Seeing the name on my screen brings a huge smile to my face. "Hey darling..."

After I hear her explanation I can feel the control slipping away from me as the Major rattles on the bars of the cage.

Oh shit.

Major's POV

I can hear my mates breathing stop for a split second while she hears the commanding tone in my voice. I mentally approve of her obedience when I hear her do as I say.

As we exit the trees surrounding the property I see a male run of in the opposite direction with my mate over his shoulder.

ANOTHER MALE HAS TAKEN MY MATE. ANOTHER MALE IS TOUCHING WHAT IS MINE.

I let out a loud roar and start chasing after his scent. I come across a small opening in the trees and suddenly I can't smell his scent anymore. It leads into the area and then just disappears. He must have some power but now is not the time to think on it. I start demolishing the trees around me and growls start slipping from my mouth.

I hear 3 more people come from behind me and I know they are my current coven mates. I turn and stand with my feel shoulder width apart, hands clasping each other straight behind my back and my head facing straight ahead with my eyes locked on the short pixie.

"You said nothing would happen".

She looked scared shitless as she dropped into a submissive pose and opens her mouth.

"I don't want to hear your excuses! I was her found, you will not rest until she is" while I'm talking I start walking towards her until she is at my feet. He wanted to play a game and now he has started one that he can not win. He has gained the attention of  the Major of the South. Ares himself.
