The same goes for Laos, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Yemen, Maldives, Somalia, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, and Iran. Here in America we never imagine such a thing happening. We say "what a shame" and go back to our normal lives. But Leona's world is rocked off balance when a revolution in the United States puts a new man in power. And Christianity is a crime punishable by death. The only saving grace is to publicly deny God. Will Leona be like Peter and deny God or will she stand tall for her beliefs no matter what happens.
