[Jaimie's POV:]
I sat down for a couple minutes there in the middle of the room. Most tears were gone. "Jaimie?" I heard, come up from the balcony. It was Gene. I smiled at her, and I was glad to see my best friend one on one again. I don't know what would happen if I told her what just happened to me. "Why are you down there?" I was now standing up again. "I was just doing a bit of exploring.. it took me a minute to realize that we started here..." I laughed a bit. Gene smiled. "Did you find anything cool?" I walked up the stairs to her. Gene shook her head in dissapointment. "Nope. Couldn't find anything. But this place looks really beautiful during the day..." Gene started to look at her surroundings. "Yeah it is really pretty, in fact it feels..more relaxing? I don't know. The atmosphere just makes everything a little better I suppose." I didn't want to nerd out to her, but it really is nice. Gene looked back at me. We began to walk. "Do you think this house is Britt's?" She asked, as we shuffled down the hallway. We were heading back to the room where we were all in before. "Yeah. I mean, look at this." I said as we stopped by that same painting. "Read the caption." I glanced at the painting. The temptation to tell her the information I heard just before was to real. Gene read the caption, actually quite shocked. "It even looks like her, too." I looked away from the painting, and back at Gene. "....I actually just ran into Britt." I said. God dammit. What was I supposed to do? And what is going to happen now that I told Gene? Gene looked shocked. "What?! How'd you get away?" She was obviously intrigued. I sighed. "She wasn't there to fight me. Apparently because of what happened to Bryce yesterday means that she may give us a day to relax....or at least try to." Gene nodded. "Well, that seems fair. Is that all she said?" I looked at her with a calm expression. I couldn't tell her, it would give her stress...and that is the last thing we need right now. "Yeah. That was it." My heart broke. I just lied to my best friend. I didn't want to, but I don't think she would handle being told that there was a more powerful demon than Britt lurking the halls with us very well. Nobody really would, to be honest.
Me and Gene walked inside the room. Jake smiled. "Oh good, you guys are back!" He said. Everyone was there. "What is it? Did you find something?" I asked, intrigued and interested. "Yep!" Jake nodded happily. "Me and Tyler found a really cool room. It's small, but it's like a library." It wasn't surprising that Jake was the person to point this out. He can nerd out sometimes. Says the one who was amazed at the architecture of this place. "Maybe we should go check it out then. It sounds interesting, and for all we know there could be something there worth the look at." Finny said, trying to spark an interest. And she was successful. We all headed out the door, Jake leading. There was twelve of us remaining, and hopefully that number will stick for some time.. I don't exactly know what Britt meant. What will happen if we do run into this.. 'she' person.. and honestly, i'm not the one curious enough to find out. But at this rate..I just want to save my friends and keep them alive. The twelve players, Gene Hadley, Ruben Oxford, Mordecai Jones, Tyler Jones, Finny Pierce, Morgan Powell, Mason Parker, Marshall Hudson, Kiera Thompson, Kate Fletcher, and Jake Shaffer, were now all in to play. Britt was sugar coding that Bryce's death was a warning. And how things were going to get rough.
I guess I must of been visibly thinking because Marshy looked at me. "Jaimie, what's up?" He said, trying to be protective and helpful, which was never really a problem. I looked back at him. "Oh, just thinking. Sorry." I smiled a bit. "No need to apologize. Thinking is good to do, because some people don't know how." Marshy sighed. Kate then looked back at Marshy. "Just like you." She smirked, teasingly. Marshy chuckled. "Well, your not the sharpest tool in the shed either, Kate." Marshy smirked back. Kate and Marshy were frenemies. I couldn't tell if they meant it or not. "Ooh, Burned." Ruben chimed in, chuckling a bit also. "Oh shut it, Ruben!" Kate nudged him. "You all are immature beings. I swear." Kate turned. I guess being modest makes her feel proud? This wasn't new to any of us, to say the least.
