"Your Mum was Lilith?", Bobby asked, jumping into the conversation.

"Yes", Hope walked up to Sam, now only a metre away from the chair he was collapsed in. She was so, so angry. Every day she missed her Mother. Every. Single. Day. And Sam was the reason why. Hope had always thought he was nice, she had TRUSTED him. But now, she just wanted him to hurt, to feel exactly how she felt.

"Hope?", Castiel asked, standing behind her.

She spun around, her usually emotion filled eyes were filled with tears instead. Her cheeks were flushed and she looked ready to kill, ready to rip Sam to pieces.

"I'm sorry".

Hope's rage dimmed for a moment, "What for?", she asked, confusion leaking through into her cold voice.

"This", was Castiel's reply. Then he pushed two fingers on her forehead and took her away. Far away.

The forest was even more beautiful at night than it had been the first time Castiel had brought Hope there. But it's beauty was wasted. Hope was, at first, surprised, then she realised what had happened.

"Take me back!", she screamed. Her tears finally spilling over her thick lashes and making small glistening tracks in the dirt smeared across her face. "Take me back!"

"I can't do that", Castiel replied calmly. His heart felt like it was full of splinters, like with every desperate tear that ran down Hope's face another thorn was stabbed into him.

"W-why?", she asked, her anger melting slowly into grief, "Cas he killed my Mum", she implored. Her eyes begging for him to understand.

Castiel knew she was in pain, Hope never called him Cas, she always used his full name. But she didn't know everything, only the general story he'd told her months ago, and that wasn't enough anymore. "Because you don't know the whole story", he said, being especially carefull not to let any emotion in to his voice.

"Lucifer- Dad- Lucifer... told me. He said that Sam stabbed her, that you could have stopped him but you didn't", she nearly choked on the words. The angels calmness was unnerving, how could he be so detached?

"Sam killed Lilith only a few months ago".

This made Hope pause, "No. No, Mum died nine years ago. I heard her scream, I saw the house burn".

"You didn't hear what you thought". Cas didn't want to tell her this, he didn't want Hope to get involved. And he realised how that sounded, just months ago he'd been telling her she could stop the Apocalypse, but now... he didn't want her to. He didn't want her involved at all.

"Nine years ago... was when heaven began preparations for the Apocalypse. I wasn't there so I don't know the details, but there were rumours that Lucifer had created a weapon and hidden it in a child. We knew he'd use Lilith to protect it, after all she was his favourite. Anyway... we tracked her down and their orders were to find the child... and destroy it, but to leave Lilith alive. When they couldn't find you they burnt the house and then just assumed you burnt with it".

Hope was frozen, even her tears seemed to freeze, "You wanted to kill me?"

"Well... not me. But other angels".

She sat down beside the small stream, it trickled over her bare feet, wetting the hems of her jeans. "Why didn't they kill Mum? You said that she didn't die. Where did she go?", Hope looked up from the ground at Castiel.

"She- she had to die at the right time. After all the other seals had broken, because she was a seal. Actually she was the final seal. After we... after they, thought they had killed you, we lost track of her. She was always good at hiding. I suppose that is the one thing you have in common".
