Ivy spent Christmas at Aiden's house. Her parents were out of town, visiting her sick grandmother and they couldn't bring Ivy cause they had to ride a boat to get there and Ivy was deadly sea sick.
There she was in the kitchen, baking cookies with his younger sister, Jade. His younger sister was perched on the kitchen counter watching Ivy in awe as she mixed the cookie dough together. Aiden wasn't even surprised that Jade already idolized her from the moment she met Ivy, I mean, he did too, didn't he?
His parents were out visiting their friends and handing them gifts, but Aiden was alright with that. As long as he had Ivy, he had no reason to complain. He watched Ivy as she instructed Jade how to put the cookies in the oven, with a sense of pride.
"That's my girl." Aiden thought, and now he was seeing Ivy walk towards his way, ready to interrupt his Star Wars film. She sat on the couch, right beside him and came to rest both her legs on his lap.
"Anakin is so hot." She says, while she watches Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi fight to the death on a planet filled with lava.
"Yeah," Aiden said as he watches Anakin fall into the lava, "Literally. He's so hot." Ivy nods and says without even glancing at Aiden, her eyes still trained on the flat screen television.
"He's literally on fire." She continues, and laughs at the way Aiden cringes at her jokes. Ivy shifts her sitting position to sit upright and lays her head on his shoulder. Aiden throws an arm around her shoulders and leans his head on the top of her head.
Christian drops by Aiden's house to give their gifts and rushes home. He really didn't want to third wheel with them during Christmas.
They sit in comfortable silence until the oven makes a sound and Ivy rushes to help Jade take out the chocolate chip cookies they made earlier.
They leave Jade alone in the house, making her promise to try and not burn it down. The couple go to the park, it was empty yet it still held this feeling of happiness. Aiden threw an arm around Ivy and held her close, the closest his gray jacket would allow.
Unexpectedly, she wrapped her arms around his waist and hugged him, as if she was afraid he'd slip away from her. But he couldn't do that to her, he couldn't do that for anything in the world. He'd rather die than leave Ivy Young alone.
They stood there in the empty park, with the snow falling all over them. Aiden leans down and kisses her forehead before she reaches down towards the ground and hits him with the snow she balled into her fist.
She runs away real quick and he's too stunned to process anything for a few seconds. Then, he reaches down into the snow and shapes the show into a ball and effectively hits the back of her head.
"Head shot!" He screams as Ivy looks at him with a scowl. Aiden looks back at her, innocently.
"You started it." Aiden shrugs and reaches down to get more snow but Ivy holds her hands up in surrender.
She walks towards him with a smile, her hands still up in the air, palms facing him. Aiden looks at her suspiciously before dropping his hand that held the snowball.
"I give up.
Aiden takes her hand into his and felt how cold it was. Knowing she was cold, he guided her back into his BMW and opens the passenger door for her, not closing it until she was safely inside.
