"Dude, I don't even know what to do for Ivy. I'm stuck and it's already Valentines Day!" Aiden almost shouted into his cellphone to his friend, Christian.
"Hey man, chill. Just get her flowers or something. Girls like that, don't they?"
Aiden almost scoffs. "Ivy hates flowers. She thinks they're useless cause all they do is look pretty and then die."
He can almost imagine Christian shrugging to that, "I don't know, man. Ivy's really tough. Maybe you should give her a stuffed animal and chocolates? She likes those, doesn't she?"
"I guess she does, but I wanted to plan this whole thing for her but I procrastinated until the last minute. Which is now." Aiden says into the phone with a sigh, he shouldn't have held it off until the actual day. He just couldn't think of something perfect for Ivy.
"What did you have in mind? I mean, besides Ivy.." Christian trailed off, breaking into laughter and Aiden scowls.
"Bro, seriously, not now."
"Alright alright, I have a joke that you have to listen to though."
Aiden sighs and looks up into the ceiling with an expression that screamed 'What did I do to deserve this?'
"Fine," Aiden says, giving into Christian. "Tell me the stupid joke."
Christian cheers and let's out a big WHOOP before asking into the phone, "Have you ever tried the home made poison IVY recipe? I'm just ITCHING to try it out!" His emphasis on the words Ivy and itching made Aiden want to stab something.
"Support my jokes, we're supposed to be bros, bro." Aiden can almost see Christian pouting, so he fakes a laugh that was almost as fake as Kylie Jenner's lips.
"Hahaha, that's funny, Chris." He deadpans before changing the subject. "What are you doing for Thea?"
"I'm taking her on a picnic and I got her some stuff."
Aiden face palms. Why didn't he think of that? Oh right, it was because he was too busy being stupid and procrastinating, that's why.
"Dude, I'm stuck. I really don't know what to do for Ivy." Aiden says before plopping down on the couch.
"Just take her out to dinner. Buy her flowers. That kinda stuff." Christian says and Aiden sighs, yeah, he thinks, it's probably the best he can do right now at eight in the morning of the day of valentines.
"Yeah, I'll do that." He says into the phone before saying, "Thanks, Chris."
"No problem, bro. Call me if your date goes to shit, though."
"I will, thanks."
"Yeah alright, bye, dude."
"Bye." Aiden says before hanging up and he rests his elbows on his knees, palms pressed to his cheeks before he stands up and goes to the kitchen to look for food.
Aiden walks slowly, in sock feet, he almost doesn't make a sound because he knew Jade and his parents would still be asleep at this time of the morning.
He pulls back the heavy beige drapes that covered the wide window that stretched from the first floor to second floor of his home. Aiden peers outside and sees exactly what he wanted to see. Nothing.
The outside was pitch black twelve in the morning. He would go out later but now, his stomach had made an unpleasant sound, snapping him back to reality.
"I really need to do something for Ivy." Aiden muttered under his breath as he scavenged his refrigerator and finding a bag of half finished Doritos. He sauntered over to the couch, clutching the bag of Doritos in one hand and his phone on the other, he threw himself onto the couch and placed his feet on top of the coffee table that stood in front of the couch.
