Sky's POV
Our bags were packed and Liam was driving us to the airport. I had Liam's phone and I dialed Logan's number. She didn't pick up which didn't surprise me. It's around four o'clock in the morning.
"Logan, you most likely wont be seeing me for a while, and I know we really haven't talked in a while. I'll be home when I can. Oh, and don't try to find me."
Short and sweet. Not really sweet, but at least it's something. I also decided to call Lydia, this is probably my last chance to actually call her for a long, long time so might as well. She actually picked up, which kind of surprised me.
"Hello?" She asked, sleepily.
"Thank you for everything, Lyd," I said.
"What?"
I had to chuckle a little bit on how confused she was. I know I left her to just lie out with little to no information, it it was the best for her. Zayn placed his hand on my knee and I looked up at him.
"You won't have to worry about me anymore. I'm safe," I said while looking at Zayn.
"How are you safe?" She mumbled.
"I'm running."
Zayn and I both broke out into a wide smile. He pressed his lips to my forehead as Lydia started rambling on how I was being stupid. I honestly didn't care what Lydia thought right now.
"Why the hell are you running?!" She demanded.
"To be safe, to explore," I said.
"You can't leave me, Sky."
"I'm just leaving for a little while. I'll be back before ya know it."
Zayn pushed a piece of my hair behind my ear as I felt some tears form in my eyes. Lydia started sniffling so I know she was close to tears.
"Lyd, it's okay for once I'm truly happy."
"Be careful, please."
"Of course."
Zayn kissed my forehead and he let his lid linger on my forehead for a little while. Liam pulled into a parking spot in the garage of the airport and I closed my eyes.
"I have to go, Lyd, I'll see you soon."
"B-bye, Sky..."
The line went dead and Zayn hugged me. I felt like I was going to break down crying, but I know Lydia will be fine without me. She has been for the last couple weeks. Liam was already out of the car unloading the bags we had. Zayn got out of the car as well while I just stayed in the car for a minute. Zayn came and he took my hand, helping me out of the car.
"You okay, Sky Baby?" Zayn asked.
"I'm fine, Zaynie," I said with a smile.
"You don't have to co--"
"I don't want to lose you, Zayn."
He smiled smiled at me then pressed his lips to my forehead again. Liam was standing there with our bags and he hugged me. I hugged him back then he let me go to hug Zayn.
"Be safe, mate," Liam mumbled.
"I will, mate," Zayn said.
They broke apart and a black car pulled up next to us causing Zayn's arm to protectively go around my waist. I saw the sun starting to rise into the sky even more now and I started to worry a little bit. What if the police found them already? What if we were already being searched?
I noticed that Ed stepped out of the car and I smiled then I walked over to wrap him into a hug.
"Thought you could leave without good-bye eh?" He asked.
He hugged me back tightly and I nuzzled my head into the crook of his neck. He held onto me tightly until we broke apart and I felt some tears form in my eyes. I never thought that I would meet him, in my entire life, and now, we're friends. Close friends.
"Stay out of trouble you two," Ed said, shakily. "And I expect you to come to one of my shows wherever you end up."
"Wouldn't miss it for the world, Ron," I said with a small smile.
I looked up at Zayn and he smiled softly at me before wrapping his arm around my waist, pulling me closer to him. I leaned a little closer to him and Zayn kissed the top of my head.
"Bye, lads," Zayn said, sounding a kind of sad.
"This isn't goodbye," I said and shook my head. I hate goodbyes.
"If it isn't goodbye, then what is it?" Ed asked.
"See you later," I said.
Writer's POV
See you later, not a goodbye, or a far well, but it's just a see you later. Sky and Zayn wouldn't disappear from their friends' lives.
"Where do you want to go?" Zayn asked Sky.
"Somewhere where there are no gangs, just you and me," She answered.
Zayn smiled at Sky then they both made their way inside to look at the different flights. Zayn looked down at Sky's hand then intertwined their fingers.
"America." Sky said.
"You want to go to America?" Zayn asked with a smile.
Sky nodded with a smile and she looked up at Zayn, the boy she never actually thought she would love. They both walked to where you buy the tickets.
"Where in America, babe?" Zayn whispered in Sky's ear.
"New York."
Zayn bought two one way tickets to New York City, without one single hesitation.
--
The very next day, they were walking on Broadway. Sky couldn't believe her eyes, everything looked so different.
"Can you believe it? We're actually here!" Sky said as she looked at all the different buildings.
Zayn just smiled at her, the girl that was unbelievably important, unbelievably special, unbelievably beautiful.
He wasn't suppose to be this lucky. To actually find love. Zayn never felt this way with anyone before, and he is so glad that he found Sky. Even if he had been an arse to her.
Sky walked around and Zayn came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close to him.
"Thank you," Sky whispered.
"Why are you thanking me?" Zayn asked smiling a little.
"For everything."
Zayn smiled wider and then pressed his lips to Sky's. Their lips moving in perfect sync, breaking apart when someone knocked into Zayn.
"Let's find somewhere to settle in, I bet you're tired," Zayn said.
Sky nodded then they were on the hunt for a hotel just for a couple days until they could find something else.
They stumbled across The Casablanca, which was right off of Broadway, and sleepily, close to exhaustion, they walked in.
"Is there something I can help you with?" A man named Jake asked.
"Yes, is there any rooms open? We need a place to stay," Zayn said.
Jake typed something on the computer and then smiled at both Sky and Zayn.
"We have a room open, do you want to book it?" Jake asked.
"Please."
Soon they were in their new "home" and Sky collapsed onto the queen sized bed, which was soft and decorated with various different pillows.
"Sky Baby, get under the covers," Zayn said and chuckled a little bit.
She just hummed in response causing Zayn to chuckle a little bit. He helped Sky under the covers then he slid in next to her.
"I love you, Sky Baby," Zayn whispered.
"I love you too, Zaynie."
They fell asleep rather quickly due to jet lag. Zayn had his arm around Sky's tiny waist and Sky had her face buried into Zayn's chest.
On the other hand, Louis, Harry, Ed, Niall, and Liam are all being questioned about The Five massacre.
Lydia is playing dumb now and is acting like she knows nothing, when she basically knows half of the story.
The paparazzi are all over Ed's "double life" and they want to find out more than anything. Ed was starting to get sick of everyone talking about him like he was some drug dealer or something. Louis and Harry have convinced Ed not to say anything because it would just become more crazy.
