The demons have taken over the world with the Chitauri, Loki is waiting for Tess to awaken. Tony Stark is keeping her necklace/book safe, Magnus Bane is mourning his daughter, yet feels as though she is safe, the rest of the Shadowhunters are going in small patrols to kill demons, always with a werewolf, a vampire, and a warlock.
Tess is with Lilith in the demon world.
