After Samuel died, the house was quiet. There was no laughter in the air. It was actually nice for Kiana Marie Dryden, but upsetting and heartbreaking for (Y/N). He was her best friend after all. There was, especially, no funeral because they never found his body.
(Y/N) played with her dolls that evening. She felt a strange presence watching over her, but she felt as if it were nothing, and continued playing.
Yesterday, after Samuel died, she thought it was just a nightmare. That's what (Y/N) kept telling herself, but she knew she wasn't going to wake up.
And she could do nothing about it.
Nothing.
That echoed in the back of her mind. She shook her head, shaking away the thoughts. (Y/N) walked into the bathroom, and stared into the mirror. At her reflection. Her (E/C) twinkled in the glass, while the light shines down at her medium length (H/C).
"My name is (Y/N) Wairrostern. I am (13-16) years old, and I just lost my best friend." (Y/N) whispered.
She turned the faucet on, and cupped her hands under the water. She splashed it onto her face before brushing her teeth.
A few minutes later, she rinsed her mouth with Listerine, and spit it out. (Y/N) looked back at her reflection. She noticed a tiny red bump on the left of her forehead near her hairline. (Y/N) leaned closer towards the mirror, and put one of her bony fingers on it. She winced.
"Marie!" (Y/N) called, while running down the stairs.
"Yes, (Y/N)?" Kiana said, walking into the staircase hallway and out of the kitchen.
"Look!" She said, pointing at the red bump.
Kiana looked at the wealthy girl. "That's just a pimple, (Y/N)."
"If it is a pimple, why does it hurt so much?"
"It's fine. That's normal."
(Y/N) groaned, and lazily walked back up the stairs. Kiana looked at the girl walking up the stairs, but sighed before walking back into the kitchen. She continued cooking.(Y/N)
My father is never home. He's never home. He only comes in the night to sleep, and then leaves early in the morning. Marie walks me to school, and then comes to walk me home. Father has been like this since Mother died, but that was 12 years ago.
Mother would have never left me alone, and would never let me walk to school; though I don't mind walking with Marie; And then Father took the dress she wanted me to have. I think I hate Father...(Y/N) fell asleep an hour early, thinking about the thoughts that we're going through her mind. She thought she hated her father, but she didn't want it to be true. Though he was never around, (Y/N) didn't want it to be true.
At three a.m, there was a thud. A thud that was loud enough for (Y/N) to hear. It was in her room. She woke up, and sat up in her bed, then looked over the edge. A book fell from the bookshelf. But it wasn't a book she recognized. And there it was. The Babadook.
