One Thing

Chapter 2

Chapter 2.

 -“Are you okay?” a sweet girl with long brown hair asked, who apparently stood next to the boy. A girl I’ve seen before, Chloe. The guy turned around and I lost eye-contact with him. He loosened up his grip of me, so I started to nervously pull my hair- which I always did in uncomfortable situations.

-“Yeah, I think s-so.” I stammered. I felt like a fool for being so insecure and awkward but that’s who I am, awkward and shy.

 -“Do you need help getting back to shore sweety?” a taller boy with blonde hair asked, who I’ve also seen before. The blond hair, muscular body and cheesy smile belonged to the one and only, Jake. His green eyes looked directly in mine seriously but sweet. *God, please! Why do I have to embarrass myself in front of the two people I hate and their cute friend? I’m going to kill my sister when we get back home!* I thought when I saw him too.   

-“I’m alright.” I answered quickly feeling my hands sweat. “I’m so, so, sorry for running into you! I hope I didn’t hurt you or anything.” I apologized to the boy. I felt my head hurting and realized that the guy must feel the same.

-“Hahahaha, It’s alright girl.” the cute boy answered with the same smile he had giving me before.

-“Louis, why you don’t go back to shore with Zara, Chloe said to the boy.

-“I’m fine Chloe and I can get back on my own”, I answered.

-“You two know each other?” Louis asked surprised.

-“Ehm, yeah we do. We go to the same school” Chloe said giving me a fake smile.

-“You should get something cold for your head” Jake suddenly said.

-“Like you care Jake” I snapped back.

-“Wait, you ALL know each other?” Louis asked again looking a little bit surprised. He then covered it up with a smile, a smile soooo cute and genuine.

-“Yeah, we all go to the same high school man.” Jake answered.

-“Cool” he said shortly and looked at Jake.

-“Well bye, nice to meet you!” I said quickly before it would get really awkward and walked back to the shore. Suddenly, when I was almost at the beach, someone took my hand in their strong and smooth hand and turned me quickly around.

-“Hey, Zara… I’m sorry. Why haven’t you answered my texts or calls?” Jake said standing too close to me. I took a step back and ignored him. If he thinks that he could fix this, he is a complete ass.

-“Answer me Zara….” He said a bit quieter than before.

-“Why, tell me why I would want to talk to a dick like you, huh?” I said angrily and released my hand from his grip.

-“Excuse me?” he said with big eyes. He didn’t expect me to be angry and curse at him since I almost never did that, except when we’ve had big fights.

-“What now?” I said feeling tears slowly coming up. But I wasn’t going to cry, not in front of him.

-“Honey, you don’t have to be so angry, because we are going to fix our small issue and then we will be back to normal!” Jake said calmed down, looking hurt. But he deserved it, big times!

-“First of all, don’t call me ‘honey’ and second of all do you think cheating is ‘a small issue’?” I said, feeling my cheek go blood red.

-“No, but I’m telling you that we can fix this” he quickly said.

-“You have been cheating on me for 2 months! I said feeling a bit desperate to get away from him.

-“How, wait, who said it was 2 months Zara?” he asked, really confused.  Shit, how would I explain this to him?

Flashback:

  It was a good day, without school and I were going to surprise Jake. He had been busy the last couples of days, for some reason I didn’t know. I was going to run into his house and surprise him with kisses and hugs and then maybe we could catch a movie or something afterwards since it was summer break and everyone was free. But when I came to his house and I had opened his door (without knocking because I was going to surprise him) I saw a pair of pink flats. I only knew one girl who owned a pair of those and that was Chloe. I saw Jake’s phone lying next to his shoes and it had a new text message, from Chloe. I knew Jake’s code to the phone, so I unlocked it and saw that they had been texting, a lot. I quickly scrolled and saw their first flirty texts; 2 months ago it was send from Jake. I felt like throwing up, and suddenly I heard I giggle from the living room. I put the phone down and walked out to the living room. And then, my world crashed.

Jake….was…..making….out…..with….Chloe…..

At first, they didn’t notice me, but then Jake looked up to catch his breath and saw me. His face expression changed in a second from happy and flirty to surprise and full of guilt. I ran out of his house and kept on running until I came home and collapsed on my bead. I heard my phone ringing and that I got a lot of text messages. I immediately turned the phone on flight mode and plugged in my headphones. I put on some music, loud, and cried for hours.

Flashback over.

-“I’ve noticed you been weird and different for the last two months!” I said quickly and part of it was actually true.

-“Forget that now for a while, because I still want you” he said trying to save his ass.

-“You have messed up big time” I said but now calmed down.

-“I know, and I’m going to make it up to you every day, every hour and every second because I want you in my life” Jake said. “I’m going to treat you like you’re the only one in the world for me, the only one I want to be with…because that’s how I feel Zara!”

  I was surprised, he genuinely looked sad and I couldn’t stand being mad at that face. But he had been cheating on me which no girl in the world should accept at all, but he did say he is sorry…

-“Sooooo Zara?” Jake said flirty and took a step closer and took my hand in his big and smooth hands.

-“Soooooo Jake” I said slowly. “I’ve made a decision”

-“Good, so what is it gonna be like?” Jake said giving me a wink.

-“Well….. I leaned in to his ear and whispered; “You can go and fuck yourself you dickhead. Just fuck off because I really don’t wanna see your face again”. I then walked and headed for my towel.  I didn’t look back but I heard him walk back out in the ocean and started to talk to Chloe.
