One Thing

Chapter 5

When I came to my bicycle I saw Louis unlocking his bike alone. When he saw me he waved and wondered which direction I was going. I answered with a gesture that I was going right and a smile lit up on his face.

-"I'm going the same direction, can I join you?" he asked with a small smile.

-"Of course!" I answered him. After about five minutes of cycling we came to a big road with no traffic. I was on the right side of him at that time. I thought that we were gonna keep cycle straight forward, but he thought we were gonna make a right turn. This led to my handlebar got stuck in his. His bicycle got free when he turned away but mine overturned and I fell on the warm ground. I landed with my knee and elbow first, but managed to avoid to hit my head on the ground. I slowly turned around so I sat in the middle of the road holding my bleeding elbow and knee since they hurt. Louis came up asking if I was ok. I couldn't respond properly since I was a bit chocked.

-"Zara, I am so, so sorry! Tell me where it hurts Zara." Louis asked extremely worried. "I am so sorry Zara."

-"It-it is ok...M-my my right e-elbow and knee hu-hurts the most but n-not a lot" I said quietly while I was trying to keep the tears inside. "You don't have to worry so much" I said and chuckled. Two persons came up helping me with my bike that was about five meters away from where I sat. A car showed up but the two nice persons stopped it while Louis tried to get me back up on my feet. My knees were shaking extremely from the chock. I sat down at a bench beside the road to catch my breath and looked at my injuries. The scratch on my knee wasn't too bad. A small gash on my left shin didn't hurt but looked deep. Louis took a look at my elbow. He said it wasn't too deep and then let go of me.

-"How do you feel Zara?" he asked concerned.

-"I'm shaky. Guess I'm shocked. But I feel ok otherwise" I answered with a small smile.

-"It's my fault, I am so sorry!" he said looking into my eyes.

-"No it isn't, I was clumsy Louis. Did you got hurt?" I asked.

-"No, not at all. That's weird actually." He answered looking concerned. He looks cute when he is worried, I thought.

-"Well, I'm clumsier so it makes sense to me" I said.

-"Hahahaha, don't be so harsh. It was my fault too Zara" he said and gave me a hug. Wow, his arms around me felt protective and it calmed me down.

-"Well, I can give you a ride on my bike back to my house so I can fix you and your injuries. Does that sounds like a good idea?" he asked.

-"Yeah sure. Let me just lock my bike so no one steals it." I answered

- "Good, you need help getting back up?" he asked. Before I'd answered him he helped me up. I locked my bike and headed for his bike. He drove off with me behind him, holding on to his torso so I wouldn't fall off. We small talked about our favorite things all the way to his house.

-"Tataaa" he said with a smile and stopped. It's a pretty normal house. Nothing special. I could hint a garden at the other side of the house.

He led the bike to a tree and leaned it against it. We got in, and the house was light and had a high roof. We stopped to take our shoes off and moved on to the stairway that was next to the hallway.

-"Hanna, were do we have bandage and things like that?" Louis yelled at someone upstairs.

-"I have no clue Lou, have you looked in the kitchen?" a girl's voice yelled back.

-"No, thank you, cous!" Louis yelled again and led me to the kitchen. The kitchen was also bright but all the lockers were grey.

-"You can sit over there." Louis said and pointed at the grey kitchen island with high black chairs. I sat down and looked at Louis while he searched for the stuff. After ten minutes of searching I asked if he needed help, but said that it wasn't needed.

-"Excuse me" he said and ran upstairs and talked to his cousin, and shortly they both came back.

-"Oh, hi!" a girl said and I guessed that it's his cousin Hanna. She was surprised when she saw me sitting in the kitchen.

-"Hello!" I said and slowly reached out my hand to shake hers. She took my hand and made it to a hug. She took a step back, held my hand and then she twisted my arm lightly so she could see my bleeding elbow.

-"What happened to you....ehm..." she said.

-"Zara" Louis filled in.

-"Zara" she said with a smile.

-"Well, I met Louis and the other two at the beach when I ran into Louis while I was chased by my sister. Then, when I was going to head home, Louis was too. So we cycled together until I drove into his bike at a road and my handlebar got stuck in his for a moment so my bike overturned which lead me to fall.

-"Oh, that must hurt" he said with a small laugh.

-"Not that much, it's pretty much just bruises, that's all. I am so clumsy so it isn't the first time I fall exactly.".

-"Well, I'm going to help you!"She said with a big smile. That smile made me warm inside because it was genuine and true and remembered me of Louis' smile. I smiled back and then Louis interrupted.

-"I found it Zara!" he said waving a package in front of me. "But first we need to clean it up. Lay down in the couch so Doctor Louis and Doctor Hanna can rescue you!"

-"Hahahaha, okay doctor, whatever you say." I said and laughed while I headed to the couch. When I was in the couch Hanna started to make the elbow clean from dirt and sand, while Louis did the same to my knee and shin. Louis took out patches for my elbow and knee, and a smaller one for my shin.

-"Thank you, you've saved me!" I said as over dramatically and looked at the patches.

-"You're welcome!" Louis said.

-"Do you need help getting up?" Hanna asked.

-"No thanks, I can walk." I said and laughed lightly. I got up and then they both walked with me to the door.

-"Thank you a lot, both of you!" I said and gave them both a hug.

-"Hope I'll see you again soon, Louis said and looked down when he said it.

-"I hope the same" I answered and got out. I walked back to my house, which took about 15 minutes.
