Butterfly

We move rather slowly

Just to show growth

Humble beginnings

Of the now know

Learning to forgive

In the matters of a sinner

Big shoes to fill

Small steps like caterpillars

Inching toward the measure

Distancing a perfect mile

Unforgotten disgraces

Disguised by perfect smiles

Prevalent ambitions

Tenacious decisions

Wise choices

But confusing missions

Not too fond of wishing

More of what I'm hoping for

Patience seem to take its time

But I know I need more

Reaching for my dreams

While others sleep in remembrance

Using my feet to measure

The miles for distance

And I prayed many days

That there would be a change

And my heart would keep on beating

That my soul may be free

Steady balance in my feet

And my past was really worth leaving

We're all fighting

And I hope not for the wrong things

Puppets play dumb silent

Ventriloquist pulling the wrong strings

And I dared to be light

In the cocoon of the dark

And break the wall that held me back

I stretched my wings

To show my strength

I was a butterfly just to match
