History is considered to be the blueprint for the future displaying the failed efforts and accomplishments of human society. History stands for a reason. Other people's mistakes are meant to be a guide to the future. However fear of the unknown or not understood could be obstacles. Black history emphasizes human struggle and battle to freedom. The lives lost due to this continuous fight are often remembered as tools to the future, equipping the new generation for overcoming adversity. Everything leads to something. Everything has a cause and effect: however how do we prevent further destruction by not being vigilant or adhering to current events?
Civil rights and equality evoked the constant longing to be alike, though we are all different. However many fail to see the fact that the differences are only connecting links to be a part of the human race. Complex and complicated creatures, people often are blinded by the most irrelevant characteristics. Society is divided by the sectionalisms of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or disability. What does this prove? It proves the yearning to be accepted in society. A part of the acceptance of the universe is everything that occurs happens in its due season. Everything must be loved and shared. Everything must be allowed to change. Relatively every event that occurs must be different, but how distinct are they? Striving to be different only means that we're the same. Society has given us a way of life, but has taken away from the truth of the matter.
In all honestly, the injustices of our past relatively affect modern injustices. It is said that if a problem is not corrected then it will be repeated. Many times over in the past injustices were overlooked and disregarded however these events weren't ever forgotten. As a member of the growing generation it is an obligation to know these events and how it affected African Americans. These events were never resolved so it is our duty to fix or at least move towards overcoming these breaks in our link. Ancestors paved the roads blocked by overgrowth or distractions of materialistic things and the stereotypes placed upon our race. It is assigned that we accept the responsibility of our flaws and push forward following the dream that the visionaries of our past set before us. The lamp still remains and the light of our future will guide us. I am that light by using my ideas to encourage others.
