Max's POV
Its been a great couple months. Its now May and Nicole is finishing up with her last day of "School" today. She is taking her final exam right now and I have been talking to the tutor who says she should do fine if she studied because she did so well throughout the time she had him. I know Nicole studied really hard because we spent the last week studying and I mean that is all we did. All the boys helped out with this because we all want her to stay. Even Nathan who wasn't too sure about her coming.
*A week ago*
"What is the definition of Criminal Justice?" I ask Nicole.
"I know this. That's easy. The book definition is,the system of practices and institutions of governments directed at upholding social control, deterring and mitigating crime, and sanctioning those who violate laws with criminal penalties and rehabilitation efforts." She says smiling.
"Correct." I tell her returning the smile!
"What are the steps of the Criminal Justice System?" Jay asked her.
"Investigation, Making and arrest based off of probable cause, booking, fingerprinting, mirandizing, questioning, arraignment, a preliminary hearing and then a plea bargain will be offered and then a formal arraignment." She says.
"Yes! Way to go girl!" Jay says sounding like a girl himself. She just laughs.
"What is probabation?" Max asks.
"Something you will be on if you keep drinking and starting fights in bars and then with me!" She tells him laughing. Then she says, "but actually its an alternative to being in jail or prison." We all laugh and Max just shakes his head. That's right he says.
"What is parole?" Siva asks.
"Parole is when you get out of prison earlier than you were sentenced." She says.
"Right!" Siva says.
"What is a jail and what is a prison?" Tom asks.
"Jails hold people who have been sentenced to a year or less, and a prison holds people who get sentenced to a year or more." She says.
"That's right!" Tom says. Nicole is getting all these answers right. "You got this babe! I know you will pass it!" I tell her. "Ya!" the boys say in unison. "We will celebrate when you pass your first year of college with an A!" Max says.
"Max, you just want an excuse to party!" She says laughing. I pretend to look shocked while everyone else laughs!
"Ya, I know. But this time we can have something to celebrate!!" I say smiling.
Nicole's POV
I just finished answering my last question on the scantron. The essay was pretty easy and now all Joe has to do is grade it. Joe is my tutors name. I go get the boys and when I walk out of the bus Max is pacing. Its really funny. I mean I know if I get a B I have to go back home and neither of us want that. "I finished!" I tell them. "I just have to wait for Jeff now." It seems like forever and pretty soon me, Max, Jay and Tom are pacing. Siva is so calm and Nathan is looking a little worried. Jeff walks out of the bus/RV and looks at me and says, "Nicole. You got a 100% on your final! Your overall grade is an A!" I start jumping up and down I hug Nathan and Siva, then Tom and Jay and Max picks me up in a hug and spins me around then he says "I knew you would pass!" he then kisses me and I kiss him back passionately.
"Gross! Get a friggin room!" Nathan says. I just look at him and grin. "Jealous much?" I ask him before returning to Max's lips. I love being able to tease Nathan because he is such an easy target.
