Kainsly woke up on the rough dirt by the campfire. Declan was no where in sight. She propped herself on her elbows and peered at the dark forest searching for him with her eyes. She could hear whispered, brought by the wind to her left. She recognized on of the voices as Declan's. She got up, whipped the dirt from her leggings and stepped into the forest, and followed the voices.
She kept through the brush and leaves. The voices were getting louder and she could now hear what they were saying. She knelt behind a tree and listened.

"I don't know if she'll make it. " Declan's voice said, tinged with nerves. " I mean she's never used the Magyk and she might not even have the same powers as her brother. For all we know she cloud be just and ordinary human!"

"We know she can use the Magyk, we've been watching her over the years, and her presence is remarkable. Have you ever met someone with such an aura to them? Most people only ever get to a dull yellow, but hers is a brilliant blue. She will be the most powerful User of all time. And with her help we'll be able to stop Nicolese from destroying the Blue Magyk forever. Now I must go. And please, don't loose any of the timekeepers I've given you. We need as many as we can get. " he voice was low and deep, leaving the forest in an early silence.

Kainsly looked around the tree in time to see Declan picking up a cylinder shaped tube from the ground and tucking it in his satchel. Then he turned and looked straight at Kainsly's tree. He sighed then said.

"You can come out now Kainsly. I know you're there. " Kainsly let out the breath she was holding then got up and turned to Declan sheepishly.

"Um.. I'm sorry for eavesdropping but, uh, what did the voice mean when he said that I had a blue aura? I mean, why?" She looked up at him questioningly

"Well, all humans have an aura. Most people have yellow or green auras, but Magyk Users, like us, have different coloured auras. Most Magyk Users have Purple auras, but some few, very, very powerful Users behave auras so blue, it's like the sun and the sea all in one. So far I've only met two people with blue auras. "

"Who?"

"You,mans your brother. But your brother's aura isn't like yours. His is more of a swirl of deep sea blue and black. That's how you know when someone is using the Black Magyk. It taints their soul.

"How do you use Magyk?" Kainsly asked.

"Well it all depends o pin the User, but most of us need to use a conductor, like a ring or wand. But the most powerful Users can just use Magyk from their minds. There are seven forms of Magyk... Air, water, fire, earth, mind, soul, darkness. I myself am a air, earth and mind User. All Users are able to control at least one of the forms. The more powerful you are the more forms you control. Your brother is a air, fire, mind, darkness User. No one in Magyk history has ever been able to control more then four. And no one has ever been able to use soul Magyk, we know it exists, but we don't know it.

"What type of Magyk User am I?"

"I'm not so sure. You send off water and mind vibes but the rest is to vague and undiscovered. You'll have to do some training to find out."

"Oh. " Kainsly looked to down at her hands and fiddled with her fingers before asking, " will you teach me?"

Declan scratched his head and though for a moment.

"Well, we won't get to the resistance till about a week or two. I might as well help start you're training. Ok. I'll do it. We start tomorrow kiddo." He patted her head and put his arm over her shoulders as he lead her back to the campground.

Kainsly searched deep inside her for the pool of energize shed learned to recognize, she unleshed it through her finger tips and threw it at Declan. He lifted his hand and  stopped the energie ball easily. He closed his hand and the Magik vanished.

He summoned a gust of wind and thrust it to Kainsly. She was struck by the wind and pushed away. Kainsly slipped in a patch of mud, slipped, and fell. She was covered in mud, and frankly, didn't smell good. Declan laughed at her as he helped her get up. She could feel the frustration building up in her. She stormed off to the river site next to the camp and watched off. She felt to frustrated about her powers. She just couldn't get them to work. She could feel her water powers slushing in her veins, but she couldn't use them. Same for the power that welled up in the back of her mind. She knew it was there but didn't know how to access it. She would tap into it, then it would escape her grasp like sand flowing through her fingers.

Then the thing that frustrated her the most was the something she didn't know. It pooled inside of her filling her life force, but she couldn't use it, or tap into it. It was like a recoiling snake that was waiting for the moment to strike.

She turned her attention back to Declan who was saying something about controlling the symbiotic waves.

She just looked at him pretending to listen until he stopped and asked her what he just said. She flushed and shook her head. She couldn't answer because she was busy playing around in the swirls of her soul. Declan had taught her that as the first thing when he began teaching her and she was amazed that she never discovered it before.
