Tara Rayes
The flight was long, probably a few hours. When the plane landed it was completely dark outside. I look on my phone and it's already after midnight. I text everyone for the last time in a while, informing them that I landed. I imagine that this could be the last time I have mobile network so I quickly decide to call my mom.
"Yes, I live", "Yes mom, I'll be fine" and "Yes mom, don't worry" were the most said sentences of mine. I try to calm her, she's about to freak out, I can tell. After what feels like hours I hang up and sigh.
Three months off will definetly be some kinda relaxation.
From the airport I get driven to the house. This driver doesn't have a british accent, guess what, his is australian. He is a bunch of years younger - probably in his twenties - and doesn't look bad, if you ask me.
He is all flirty and I might am, too.
The whole ride long we talk. It isn't as long as the first one to the airport but long enough. I find out that his name is Adam and he is in his twenties. His birthday wasn't long ago and he turned twenty-two. I tell him about me, too, and that my birthday won't be until about half a year. I am exhausted as hell when the Australian stops in front of the house. We exchange our phone numbers, though I won't be able to text him the next three months. He understands, luckily - I've told him the whole story.
There I am, in the middle of the night, in front of a house which is probably more expensive than my whole existence.
Yeah, I can't lie, it is pretty impressive.
In the house are already all the lights on. From the outside it's really bright - moments later I get why. There are almost no walls, just large windows. Everywhere.
I don't mind though, since it's in the middle of nowhere. In fact, I'm in love.
Around the house are large grass fields. Many miles away trees start and build a forest. It's like the house is in the middle, there's grass around it and there's forest around the grass - a big round circled area.
I am in love with the house by now. I don't even need to get in.
But when I do, I can't stop being amazed.
It starts off with a big tidy hall. There is a completely empty wardrobe on the left in which I put my coat into. It already feels like home so I could might as well start living here.
The hall is longer than anything that I've seen by now. I slowly walk through it, since I have plenty of time. I smile the whole time. Two halls, one on the left and one on the right, join the main one at the half. I see a few doors in the small floors and stairs at the end of both so I decide to go straight ahead at first.
The view leaves me breathless. It's the biggest living room I've ever seen - every room in this house is extremly big, I have to get used to it. On the right is a big modern kitchen with a fridge and kitchen counters in the middle of the room. Aside from the kitchen is a big table with six chairs. I won't even need that much space, why do I have it?
When I look to the left, there's another staircase. Behind it is a huge bookshelf filled with books. Ew. Right next to the bookshelf is a giant couch. Immediatly I run and jump onto it. It's so comfy that I don't even want to go and see the rest of the house, as tempting as it is.
I realize, once again, that I have still full three months in here and a little rest won't be bad. I am so exhausted from traveling that I fall asleep right away.
***
I wake up to the sound of birds. I smile with still closed eyes.
I am so in love with this place.
