Alexander has always loved this forest.
"John, John, Johnny, come up here with me!" he says excitedly, looking over the edge of the rock. John just laughs and pulls himself up, lying down by Alex.
Alex rolls on his side and props himself up to smile at John. "Hi," John says with a little smile. "Did you bring the bag?" he asks.
"It's not even lunchtime yet!" Alexander laughs, tugging his backpack off. "Don't eat all the food."
John rolls his eyes. "I won't!" he exclaims, quietly adding, "I just want the Fritos." Unfortunately, Alexander catches that.
"Fuck no man, those are mine!" he whines, reaching for the bag of chips. Damn John and his long arms.
"Not anymore, hon," John laughs. Of course, this laugh is cut short when Alexander gets up and straddles his stomach, grabbing the bag. "Th-That's not fair!"
"On the contrary, my dearest Laurens, it is completely fair," Alexander states before shoving a handful of chips in his mouth.
John huffs and stretches his arms above him, letting his hands dangle over the edge of the rock. "I can't believe you."
"Hey, John, let's play a game," Alexander says and leans down a bit.
"Don't talk with your mouth full. What game?" John asks. All of Alex's game ideas are pretty much always stupid.
"Tell me a secret."
_I love you._
"The forest is very pretty."
Alexander scoffs and rolls his eyes. "Come on John, I meant a real secret!"
John goes with the safest secret.
"I'm gay. Tell me a secret," John replies smoothly, going along with Alexander's game. His heart speeds up as he await Alex's reply.
"I'm bi. Tell me a secret." Oh, thank god.
"I like facial hair. Tell me a secret."
"I like freckles. Tell me a secret."
"I think dark hair is hot. Tell me a secret." John smiles at Alexander's blush.
"Curly hair is really gorgeous. Tell me a secret."
"Brown eyes are beautiful. Tell me a secret."
"Green eyes are beautiful. Tell me a secret."
"You're the closest friend I've got. Tell me a secret." _Friend._
"Laurens, I like you a lot." Alexander leans down and presses his lips against John's, and John loves this forest a whole lot more.
