He looked up at me with hooded eyes as I waited for him to explain this mess.
I listened as he cleared his throat, his hands clasping together in front of him. "Look Annie.... The reason you're here is because of Jack. He's... He's done things. He owes us things that are irreplaceable. Things that we can't get back," he said, his fists clenching together at his sides. "You're here as punishment."
My stomach ached and my head was pounding. None of that could be true. Jack had done nothing wrong. He'd been nothing but truthful to me ever since we'd started dating. It occurred to me that Harry was just saying this stuff to get under my skin. But I couldn't shake the feeling that everything he was saying...... Was true.
"No! Jack would never lie to me. He loves me, an I love him. He would never lie. Never!" I shouted, standing up. Harry stood up right along with me, grasping me by the shoulders. "Annie listen. I know we just met and I'm sorry that the way we did wasn't very good, but you have to listen to me. Jack is the reason you're here. Jack.... He's....he's..."
"He's what!?" I spat. Harry looked down at me, his eyes dilated. "Nothing.... He's nothing."
I raised an eyebrow at him. "Well when am I supposed to get out of here!?" I yelled. I watched as he bit his lip, "I'm not sure. Until boss tells me I can let you go I guess. But considering the plans we've got for Jack... Probably a few weeks or a month or so." My jaw fell open. A week. A WEEK with Harry?! I hadn't known him a day, yet I already hated his guts.
He smirked at my shocked expression. "Surprised? That just means you and I get to know eachother better," he chuckled, scooting over and wrapping an arm around me.
"Just fuck off, please!" I whined, shoving him away the best I could, considering my hands were still cuffed. He only laughed, using his advantage against me to pull me into him again. I huffed, pulling away.
"Come on... You're staying here for a while, so you may as well learn to get along with me," he smiled, his eyes softening a bit.
"Precisely why I don't want anything to do with you. You're holding me here against my own will."
"Well, what would make your stay nicer then?" He asked, sounding like one of those mangers at the front desk of a cheap hotel.
I pondered a moment, until it hit me. "My own room." I was thrown off when he flew into fits of laughter.
"Not in your fucking dreams! what else?" He chuckled.
"To be as far away as possible from you," I spat, glaring up at him. That's something I usually never did. I was nice to everyone, all the time, even if they didn't deserve it. But the consequences this time were different, and for once in my life I found myself being capable of holding the emotion of hatred.
