Autumn's POV

______________________________

Amy has been giving me a make over for almost two hours. I know it's been two hours because every five minutes Amy will take a big sip of coffee, and I can hear her slurping. I've been counting.

She won't let me see what she's doing to me, which I think is kind of unfair.

"OK, honey, I'm done," Amy announced.

She's done? Good, I'm probably already really late for dinner, dad will be getting worried.

I slipped the blind fold off, but couldn't see anything because I had taken my glasses off before. I'm blind without them.

As I reached for my glasses, Amy grabbed my wrists and held me still.

"Hang on, sweetie, one last thing," Amy quickly attempted to put contact lenses in my eyes. For a second my eyes were really bleary and I couldn't see a thing until I blinked a few times.

Then I looked in the mirror.

What I saw almost gave me a heart attack.

The person in the mirror looked...amazing.

"Who is that?" I asked Amy, pointing to the mirror and the person inside it.

"That's you, sugar," Amy replied with a smile.

I leaned forward, and so did the girl in the mirror. I waved my hand, and so did she.

I looked properly at her- me.

She had jaw length red with blonde streaks hair. Blonde? Yep, this person isn't me, I have red hair, not red and blonde hair.

And big green eyes that were rimmed with black eyeliner and mascara. And no glasses.

OK, it's official, this girl looking back at me in the mirror isn't me, even though Amy says she is.

"Amy?" I asked nervously.

"Yes?" Amy was looking in the mirror too, looking at the beauty she had created, the beauty that wasn't me.

"She looks different," I whispered.

"That's what a makeover is, do you like it, chickpea?" Amy answered proudly, wiping her foundation and blonde hair dye smudged hands on her apron.

"Y-yes," I whispered, because it was the truth.

I love what Amy has created, she has completely changed the definition of Autumn McKenna.

I was scared to move incase I ruined it and the picture was destroyed forever.

I just seriously couldn't get over how different I looked.

"How much do I owe you?" I asked finally, opening dad's wallet and pulling out a few notes.

"Nothing, sweetness. It's my present to you," Amy replied, leaning down and hugging me.

"No, Auntie Amy, I really must-" I protested, but Amy silenced me with a gift-wrapped box.

"Umm...what's this?" I asked, poking the present warily.

"See this make up I used on you?" Amy replied, gesturing to my face, "well this is everything I used incase you want to give yourself a makeover, OK, bunny?" Amy explained, kissing my cheek.

"Thanks Auntie Amy," I smiled, hugging Amy back.

"Now, you'd better be getting back, darling. Your dad will be worrying that I've abducted you," Amy laughed, walking over to the desk.

"I'll call him now, sweetheart, tell him you are on your way home."

"OK," I smiled sadly, wiping a tear away.

This could be the last time I ever see Amy. Right here, in her conversion of a hairdressing salon.

"Don't cry, I'll see you soon, OK darling?" Amy smiled, enveloping me in a tight hug.

I'm going to miss Amy so much.

"I'm going to miss you," I whispered, hugging Amy tight.

Amy stood as a second mum to me. She had always been there when I needed help, and never left me alone.

It would be hard without her.

We broke apart, and Amy called my dad, saying I was on my way home.

"I would drive you, sweetie, but I have clients coming in fifteen minutes," Amy apologised.

"It's OK, good exercise to walk," I replied, walking over to the back door.

"Call me when you touch down?" Amy asked with a smile.

"Definitely," I answered, walking out of the hairdressing salon.

"Bye!" Amy called out.

"Bye, see you soon Auntie Amy!"

And I turned away from the fish-and-chip-hairdressing-salon for the last time.
