Autumn's POV

I trailed out of McDonalds*.
*was kicked out of McDonalds.
And trudged into Tescos.
Using the money I would've used to buy lunch, I decided to binge on the good old English food.
I searched on the Internet that you can't get the normal English foods, like Hula Hoops and Marmite!
I bought a family pack of Hula Hoops.
Ah the joy.
I opened up the packet and popped one in my mouth.
The time on my watch read 10:13am.
I still had hours to kill, the lunchtime bus would leave at 12, I could catch that, or wait for the normal school bus in the afternoon to come at 3:00pm.
I didn't have any more money on me, I spent it on the Hula Hoops, #epicfail.
I decided to head back to school, so much for my fantastic disappearing act...that lasted the total of about an hour.

-at school-
I reached school, and ditched my bag at the locked gate and sit down in the wet grass.
On the bright side, it isn't raining, even though about 200 days of the year includes rain.
It's a miracle.
I leaned my head against the fence and closed my eyes, listening out for the lunchtime bell to sound.
Ring
Ring
Ring
I smiled as I heard it go off, not a minute later than usual.
That's one thing I like, order.
I heard someone rattling the chain on the gate, opening it up.
I turned my head to the noise and opened my eyes.
The janitor, Mr Barlow, was muttering to himself as he twisted the keys in the lock.
He's a character.
My bus pulled up just as people started leaving school.
I ran up, and quickly avoided the glare of Katie, who was doing the 'I'll kill you' signal.
I climbed up onto the bus, and picked the front seat.
The seats were sticky, and I think some little kid might have dropped something on them.
Gross.
Katie and several other 'popular' people climbed on, and glared at me.
"You're dead meat, McKenna," Katie smirked, pushing past me so she could get to the back seat.
"Whatever," I muttered under my breath, ignoring Katie's deathly stare.
"What did you just say?" Katie hissed, spinning around in her seat and crossing her arms over her chest.
"Nothing," I replied quickly, setting my eyes down at the book on my lap.
"No, what did you say, McKenna? Or I'll come and bash you right now."
"No violence on the bus, kids," the bus driver called out, pulling out of the bus bays.
"This isn't over," Katie muttered, turning to talk to one of her friends.
I think I might have just stood up to Katie.
We dropped lots of people off, then it was my stop.
A tingle ran down my spine, I was about to embark on the best thing that had possibly ever happened to me.
Then I felt something wet on the back of my neck.
I brought my hand up to the back of my head, and my fingers brushed against my newly-cut hair.
What I felt made me feel sick, though.
Someone had thrown chewing gum in the back of my hair.
Bravely (I hope) I stepped off the bus, thanking the driver for carting me partly around since year seven.
The driver looked at me a funny way and told me to get a move on because I was holding the buses timetable up.
I awkwardly climbed off the bus, with my laptop (I'm not handing it in cos) my bag and my messy locks.
My dad was standing at the post box, waving at the bus.
Shoot.
"See you tomorrow, McKenna!" Katie and her friends yelled at me from the backseat.
I just smiled and ignored them, hopping off the bus to greet my dad.
He's home from work early.
"Hey Dad."
"Hey Autumn, how was-what have you done to your hair?!" Dad cried, stopping frozen in the driveway, staring at my hair.
