Part 7 : Hunting

It was already pitch black outside. Leaving the only light to be the quarter moon hanging in the sky.

"Okay we need some kind of forest...unless you have enough money for meat?" He turned with a grunt to look at me.

"No. Where would I get the money for that?"

"I don't know. Maybe you're magically rich and shit money out." He turned back around to continue to walk.

I frowned at his choice of language as I stayed close behind. After walking in silence for a few minutes he gave out to a long bored sigh.

I tilted my head a bit to look up at him. "Where are we even going?" I asked with more sass than I expected would come out.

"This is taking to long." He grumbled "Okay so I'm going to tell you something else I forgot to mention before we left."

I hummed in response as I kept in tow behind him.

"So to cut it short,we have heightened senses. As you already know," He said this while rolling his eyes and looking bored. "we aren't like humans. We have things that might help us with these...things,I guess are supposedly inside us."

I took a side-long glance at him. "Okay...? This isn't really cutting it short. Sounds more like you're repeating what you already said."

"If you would shut up and wait that would be great,kid."

I narrowed my eyes a bit but didn't say anything else as he kept talking.

"An example would be our smell. We can smell blood and fear from a couple of miles away. Our 'fangs and claws' I mentioned before as well are just longer and sharper nails and teeth. Buuuut right now what we really need is our running ability. We can run a bit faster and have a lot more adrenaline..or energy if you want to be a smart ass."

He mumbled the last part as I finally got annoyed and gave him a glare.

"You almost sounded smart there,Levi. If it weren't for the last part..."

"I am smart,kid." He turned to give me a glare. "So now to actually 'activate' these 'powers' we need to smell blood,sweat,or danger." He gave me a smirk. "And I think I already smell it."

I looked around smelling the air. "I don't smell anything."
"Idiot,don't go smelling the air and forcing the smell into your nose. Just relax and let it linger in. Remember that thing needs a sniff,too."

I stopped feeling my shoulders drop.
'Why am I even tense?'

I could actually smell it...! It was a strong alluring scent that smelled amazing. It was something I wanted SO badly-it smelled delectable! Although my common sense would kick in occasionally telling me it was gross,my hunger was stronger.

"I smell it!" I turned to Levi with a smile pointing at my nose.

His slight smirk dropped and a gleam flashed through his eyes.
'Is he proud of this? Why?'

"Are you hungry,Levi?" I asked curiosity laced in my voice.

He blinked as if he was in a trance. "Yeah,as sure as hell,I am." He turned around ready to run. "But,first let's find the source of this smell. I'm wondering why it's so strong."

"Are we eating it?" He was starting to run and I yelled the last bit as he dashed off.

I quickly followed hearing his answer. "Depends on what it is and where it is."
