My mind was filled with thoughts about Tyler. I fiddled with my necklace running my fingers over the metal letters. I was definitely falling for him, or I already fell for him. The rest of the day was relaxing I didn't do much in class cause I'm one of those people who can take a test without studying and still get like 85% on it.

The last bell of the day rang and I headed to my locker. I grabbed my bag and headed to my bus.

"Hey wait up!" I heard a familiar voice say. It was Tyler, he walked beside me and looked down at me.

"Hey" I said with butterflies filling my body. I walked on the side walk and he was on the ground beside me. I could now see his beautiful eyes without having to look up.

"What are you doing tonight?" He asked looking at me. I kicked a rock and said "I'm not sure I'll probably hideaway in my room again. Why?" "Just wondering..." He said looking down at his shoes.

We finally reached our bus and got on I sat beside Charlie. The bus ride was silent. There was now no one on the bus and I had put my feet up on the bus. I was playing with my necklace I got when I was 5. It was probably the most valuable thing I owned.

"How was your day pumpkin'?" Mike asked breaking the silence.

"It was okay. I don't know what I'm going to do. I can't go home I'll just get beat" I said to Mike sadly.

"I'm sorry... I would do anything to help but there's nothing I can do." He said looking at me through the front mirror of the school bus.

"I know thanks for trying" I said with a weak smile. I finally got to my stop and said "Hey Mike, can you bring me breakfast tomorrow please?" He smiled and said "Of course" With that he closed the bus doors. I walked down the dirt road that led to my broken down home.

"Who's there?" I heard my dad yell angrily from the back room.

"It's just me!" I shouted back. I went to my room and put my bag down beside my old bed. I started thinking about things to do. I thought about Tyler for a while. I just wanted to be in his arms again. I felt so protected. My thoughts were then interrupted by my dad barging into my room.

"Where are my fucking cigarettes?" He yelled at me.

"I don't know?" I said pissed as hell. I knew what was coming next and I was waiting for it. He punched me in the face. I took a few steps back and anger filled me. I wanted to fight back so bad but I would easily lose that battle. He threw a few more punches at me and left my room.

I was now sobbing alone in my bed. I was reminded of Mike "Hey... no crying. You are a very strong young girl and you know it". I tried to stop crying and I succeeded. I grabbed my sunglasses and climbed out my window and left.

I had been walking for about 2 hours or so. I had gotten close to Tyler's house. I was debating whether I should go see him or not. I found a small forest nearby and climbed up a few rocks. Once at the top I sat down on the edge my legs dangling off the rock. I fiddled with my necklace some more.

I finally decided to go see him. What else was I going to do? I had nothing and my eye was throbbing. I reached his door step and a woman in her thirties answered.

"Hi! Can I help you with anything?" She asked kindly. She brown hair and Hazel brown eyes just like Tyler's.

"Umm... y-yeah, I'm looking for Tyler?" I said nervously.

"Sure just a second" She said. "TYLER!!!" She yelled I heard footsteps come closer to the door. The woman left and Tyler appeared.

"Emma, hey, what's up?" He asked looking at me. I couldn't answer. I took of my dark sunglasses off, tears were flowing down my cheeks. His eyes grew wide, they were filled with sadness and sorrow. He was speechless, he walked out of the door frame and brought me into his arms. I hugged him so tightly that I thought I was going to hurt him.

He let go of me and I was now sobbing. He brought me into his house and sat me down at the kitchen table and gave me an Icepack with a cloth. Two adults walked in, which I could only assume were his parents. The boy sat beside me and looked at me carefully. His parents looked devastated, they were also speechless.

"What happened?" Tyler said in a calming voice. He placed a hand on my shoulder and I flinched.

"My dad... he- he... got mad because he thought I took his cigarettes and he just- he just started hitting me nonstop..." I said remembering the awful thing that happened not too long ago.

"Here let me take a look, I'm a doctor" His dad said coming closer to me. I took the ice pack off and he touched it. I flinched cause of the pain. "Did he hit you anywhere else?" He asked. I lifted my shirt and a huge bruise was on my torso.

"Does this happen often?" Tyler asked me looking at my wound. I nodded my head and watched his dad make sure that my torso was fine.

"You're going to be fine, nothing looks broken" He said with a weak smile. I put my shirt down and put the Icepack back on my eye.

"How'd you get here you live like 45 minutes away?" Tyler asked looking at my eye.

"I walked" I said. His parents sat down at the table with us.

"Umm... I know we don't know each other that well but... did you want to spend the night here? I mean if it's okay with you guys." He said looking at his parents.

"No, no we don't mind" His mom said.

"I'd love to but if I don't go home I'll probably get another beating I just needed to come see someone to comfort me." I said looking at Tyler with a weak smile.

"Where's your mom?" The woman asked calmly.

"She died when I was 5" I said blinking away a tear.

"I'm so sorry" She said

"Wasn't your fault" I said a little harsh.

"Do you want us to drive you home?" Tyler asked worried.

"No it's okay I'll walk" I said getting up from the table, grunting in pain.

"Do you have a phone?" The young boy asked.

"No my dad would never buy me one and I can't pay for it." I said walking to the front door. The whole Williams family followed me. I gave them their Icepack before leaving.

"Wait just a second" Tyler said speeding down a flight of stairs. I waited a few seconds. He came back with a smart phone in hand. He gave it to me with a pair of headphones. "If ever anything happens call me. My number is on the emergency and you might want music for your walk" He said

"Thank you so much" I said. I put my dark glasses back on and gave Tyler a bear hug before leaving. I put the earphones in and started walking home.
