Vampires Versus Wolves

Chapter 7

I took a seat at the piano and took a deep breath, since earlier this morning Robert gave me an idea of a new melody, but I'm also going to try singing as well since that was something that I've never tried I thought why not try it. I didn't write the melody yet seeing's as this is all experimental and i'm just trying it out, a melody started flowing through my thoughts and I started humming it out loud. As I started playing it on the piano without even thinking of what to sing I just started singing......I started writing it down, but then decided that I wanted Robert to be involved as well seeing's as it was something that he wanted to see me do. Today is fairly cloudy out, so both of my parents would be outside enjoying the outdoors before the sun came out, I got up and ran outside. My mother is leaning against a tree when I reach the backyard and I walk up to her, when she sees me she smiles brightly at me.
"Hey Mel...its so nice out today, don't you think?" She asked as I approached her and nodded my head. "Yeah, I love it out here." I said and she kissed my forehead. "Do you need anything?" I hesitated, but nodded my head and smiled. "Yeah actually, umm...could you call Robert please? He wanted to see how I make my melodies and I want to see what he thinks of how I make them."
Her smile grew even wider. "Of course sweetie! I'll give him a call right away!" She said walking back towards the house. "Thank you so much mom." I said following closely behind her. "Your welcome sweetheart!" She said. A few minutes later there was a knock at the front door, I rushed over to answer it.
"Hey Robert come on in." I said. "Thanks Mel." He said walking in, but I gulped when I saw his dad on the front law talking to both of my parents and I slowly closed the door behind him. "Sorry Mel...he insisted on coming." I sighed and nodded my head offering a small smile. "That's alright Robert." I said leading him into the living room.
We both took a seat at the piano and I showed him what I had so far. "I didn't continue because I wanted you to be apart of it." I said and he smiled. "Are you serious?" He asked with widened eyes and I nodded my head while smiling brightly at him. "Yes I'm totally serious!" I said. "Umm...okay where do we start?" I took a deep breath and continued the melody of where I left off and started humming, then started singing. I looked at him and nodded my head, he raised his eyebrow at me and I stopped singing. "Sing silly sing." I said and he shook his head. "I don't think that's a good idea." I sighed. "Robert...come on its just singing. Just sing what comes to mind when you hear the melody." I said and he rolled his eyes. "That's easy for you to say." He said and I punched his shoulder lightly. "Just try Robert...please?" He hesitated, but finally nodded his head. "Alright I'll give it a try." He said. "Yay!" I cheered and he chuckled. "Whatever." I started playing the melody again and this time we both started humming, then our humming turned into singing and by the time we finished we had sang and written a whole song. "Wow! That was amazing!" He said and I chuckled. "Yeah, we make a pretty good team. And your a really good singer." "Not as good as you...your an amazing singer." I rolled my eyes. "Are you serious? I've never sung before in my whole entire life." He raised an eyebrow at me. "You have got to be kidding, right? You've never once sang while you were little?" He asked and I shook my head. "No, I'm serious I have never once sang while I was little." And it's true even If I may have an amazing singing voice I have never once sang in my whole entire life...its just something I never thought of doing up until now." "Well you are amazing at it, so that's all that matters." He smiled brightly at me as I blushed slightly. "Thank you so much Robert." I said. "Hey no problem Mel." I grabbed the music sheet and we both got up and rushed outside, James and my parents were still talking on the front law when we made it outside. "Do you want to hear the song Robert and I wrote together?" I asked as soon as we reached them. "Excuse me you little bitch, we're in the middle of talking and we don't need your little nose budding in on us!" "Come on dad are you serious? You don't need to make a big deal out of everything that she does, just leave her alone." Robert said narrowing his eyes. "Since when are you two all buddy, buddy? I thought this little bitch hated you?" James snarled. "Well maybe things are different now...all I know is, is that if you want to get to her you have to go through me." James narrowed his eyes. "You really want to do this son?" He asked. "Do what dad? Protect my best friend? Then yes I really want to do this." He said raising his voice a little. James looked at me with so much hatred, I just knew that I was going to die right then and there...so I prepared myself, I was never afraid of dying anyway. James launched at me, but Robert jumped out in front of me, I braced myself for the impact and when I felt Roberts body hit mine all of the wind was knocked out of me, but I used all of my strength to push back. After a few minutes James knocked Robert off of his feet and before Robert could get up and rush over to me again James charged at me and pinned me to ground knocking all of the wind out of me and crushing my ribcage...I tried screaming out in pain, but nothing came out. And before I could catch some of my breath I blacked out.
