I find you on the beach
My sister and friend
Reality is between us
As well as oceans and time
You have always had piano playing fingers, long and slender
A musician who did not like to practice
You bite your nails and draw on your palms
I have always thought of you as a work of art
Now you are making a pretend frame with your hands
As if the ocean were a movie and you are the director
Your hair is the green and blue reflection
of the turning Earth, through an astronaut's telescope
I might as well be in space
I am orbiting the planet that you are
I ask, "Would you help me get back down to Earth?"
You turn your eyes to mine still making a frame with your hands
I am the spectacle of your movie now
We sift through the sands like how we would make sandcastles as children, now we are building ourselves
You answer, "The ocean is only so deep". I do not know what you mean.
