Hayden's POV:
What in the hell was I thinking?! All men are pigs and jerks!!! I was walking down the hall going to my first period class. I can't seem to look where I am going. I am always looking at my damn feet. I dunno a habit of mine I guess. A bad habit since it just caused me to ruin smack into Pete. Oh God! Here we go again.
"Hey sexy lady." He says as he grabs my arm. "What are you up to tonight? I'm staying the night with your brother again." He pulls me closer. Close enough for his lips to almost be touching mine. His smell is so intoxicating. I could just eat him. I laugh to myself. Eat him with ketchup.
Austin's POV:
How am I supposed to explain to her what I am? That I am not some monster trying to kill anything I get my hand onto. That I am truly half-man and half-beast. The half that is an animal is not dictated by evil or nefarious forces, but rather the true nature of the animal that I change into. Wolves are known for their loyalty to their pack, for being wonderful parents to their young and for guarding their territory, qualities which humans regard highly. I was still thinking and looking at my feet while I walk to class. Who on Earth does this? I look up just in time to see Pete lean down and kiss Hayden. It doesn't look like Hayden is pulling away. I growl deep in my throat and run towards them.
Hayden's POV:
I wrap my arms around his shoulders and pull myself deeper into the kiss. I heard a growl and I pull away a little shocked. "What's wrong baby?" Pete asked but I ignored him. I had to find out where that growl came from. The growl sounded just like the one in my dream. I turn to look to see where it came from and saw Austin running toward us. OMG! This does not look good. Before I could scream stop, Austin's fist connected with Pete's face. I jump on Austin's back to try to get him to stop and I got swung to the floor and hit my head. I didn't even feel the pain. I was so pissed off. Everyone was in the hallway now, staring at the spectacle in front of them. This is so embarrassing. "Will you guys please stop?!" I screamed. Austin stops, fist raised. I was rubbing my hurt head and he was staring at me looking like he didn't know what was going on. I walked up to him and grabbed him by his ear and whispered while everyone else was helping Pete. "Let me tell you something Austin Carter, you can't just tell me that I am a sister you never had and then turn around and act like a jealous boyfriend." I said on the verge of tears. The sister part really did hurt my feelings. "If you can't be with me then let me move on and be with someone else." I sigh. I let go of his ear and turn to where Pete was waiting. Austin grabbed my arm. "I know that I can't be with you but I can't seem to let you go." He whispered. I felt my eyes swell up with tears. "You have to." I said to him and I walked away. It wasn't the easiest thing to do and I still don't know how I did it without shattering into a thousand pieces.
Austin's POV:
I drove home seeing as how I was suspended from school for fighting. I can't seem to stop thinking about Hayden. I'm in love and I guess I have been for awhile now. I remember when she was four. She wondered into the woods and had gotten lost. She was crying and scared. It was about to rain. She was a little scared when she first saw me; I was in my wolf form. I slowly approached her and she held out her hand, I liked it and she laughed. She had a beautiful laugh. I led her home that day and the next day I met her brother. I couldn't seem to stay away from her even then. I can't stand to know what she will think of it she knew. She was my soul mate and she had my mark on her. I put it there the day she was lost and she doesn't even know.
Sorry for not uploading it for so long. Just got caught up in life. VampyreWitchMagik gave me enough inspiration to write another chapter. I will try my best to upload more. I really wanna see how this story ends. I guess we all now know why she's been having those dreams huh?
