Chapter 6

The door opened and Lucas came in.

"How about I leave you two alone?" My father said as he stood up. But before I can object, he already left.

Great. Just great.

"Lucas," I said, halfheartedly. "What brings you here?"

Lucas is one of my suitor my dad likes. With his polite demeanor and his successful company. My dad even said he wants us to get married someday!

He chuckled and smiled sweetly at me. "I just want to see you."

"Oh, is that so?" I batted my eye lashes at him mockingly.

He didn't seem to noticed that I was mocking him. Instead his cheeks turned bright pink.

I can't help it. I laughed.

"I...um," he looked down shyly. "I want to ask you something."

"I'm listening."

"Would you...," he bit his lips. "You can, of course, decline it. But... wouldyougooutwithme?"

"Huh?" I actually do know what he said. But I just want him to say it again. Not because I like him or anything. But because I like to make him suffer.

I can be very cruel if I want to.

He took a deep breath. "Would you go out with me?"

"Umm..." What should I say?

"Please?"

I looked at him. I should give him a chance.

"Of course." I said.

He flashed his pearly whites at me. "I will pick you up at eight." He stood up and left.
