With a sigh, Sophie pushed herself out of bed, not quite feeling the 'early morning cheer'. She yawned and stretched out her long, slender arms, and shakily stood up, shuffling her feet towards her floor length mirror.
"Ugh, what happened to you? You look like a mess!" Vertina, one of her few friends. Sophie shot a weak glare at the tiny, albeit pretty, face in the corner of the mirror, trying to hide the smile twitching at the corners of her pale pink lips.
Even Sophie had to admit, she looked awful. Her dark eye bags had returned, her blonde, thin,straw like hair was in tangles and knots, and her coffee brown eyes didn't have their usual shine.
Her exhaustion was all thanks to her fellow Councillors. They'd been up all night in the Forbidden Cities, trying to track down a stray unicorn foal that'd wandered into the human's territory. In the past, when Sophie was younger, the Council would've sent out Emissaries to do their dirty work, but ever since she and Fitz joined the Council, they'd adjusted and changed many different laws. Like the 'no love between Councillors' one, Sophie thought to herself with a giggle.
Fitz's handsome face popped into her mind, his musical laugh twinkling in her ears. Ahh, Fitz. Fitz Vacker...FITZ VACKER! She'd completely forgotten about their plans for today! Considering how it was their only free day for the next week, the two of them had decided to meet up at Everglen, but now Sophie was late! In a hurry, she speedily took a quick shower, hastily pulling on a simple gown and doing up her hair.
"Wow. You actually look-you actually look good!" Vertina said, obviously impressed. With a smile on her face, Sophie rushed to the Leapmaster, yelling out her lovers' name, before stepping into the beam of light.
