Chapter 2: Droplets of Distress

Adrien is seen one day sitting near the window, looking at the vast cities covered in rainwater. A friend of his came over and discussed about Adrien's broken memories. After the discussion, she left and smiled before disappearing as both Marinette and Ladybug. Adrien is worried about the two protagonists so he tried looking for both of the, as most of the time he tried looking for Ladybug after a news report.

Adrien's POV

[Scene: Eiffel Tower]

Adrien was standing there, having a chat with his little black kwami, Plagg. " Will this rain ever end?" He said in distress. " Kid, the rain will never bother you if you don't bother it." Plagg explained with no sense. " Rain is inevitable to us Plagg. You can't stop rain." Adrien replied as he sinks down to his seat, " You will never understand.". Plagg felt sorry but had nothing to do so he slept inside his coat.

Adrien felt a touch, so he looked back. He saw nothing however, so he sinks further. " Who touched me?" Adrien asked the kwami. " Probably your imagination. Its just the rain Adrien." Plagg made a point. " Your right... I'm pushing myself to far." Adrien said, still feeling sad.

A black butterfly hovered over Adrien and landed on where Adrien was facing. Adrien went back and warned the black butterfly, " Don't go near me!". The butterfly communicated with Adrien, " I wont... Just staring at your own sorrow.". " What do you mean?" Adrien asked. " You don't have enough negative energy! I can't possess you correctly." Hawkmoth says through the akuma. " Leave me alone." Adrien ordered as the akuma flew away, still stalking Adrien.

He tried to fight the negative energy consuming his body, but it was hard on a day like this.

He sat down. It was the fastest way to fight the negative energy. Plagg devoured a piece of camembert before comforting Adrien, " Ya know, everything is harmless until you provoke it.". " I know Plagg, since when did you speak with quotes?" Adrien asked with a smirk. " And when did you stop saying puns." Plagg countered with a giggle. " As far as I know, I only do that FUR Ladybug." He let out a chuckle. " And there he goes." Plagg rolled his eyes.

Silence was heard after Plagg ate the whole camembert. Adrien was still imagining about something. Plagg was looking at the open city of Paris, just looking for a special someone, Tikki.

Master Fu's POV

" It seems that this storm isn't any other storm." Wayzz says with a faint frown. " Now don't worry Wayzz." Master Fu replied," The effects of normal rain is nothing compared to this.". " Why not?" Wayzz asked curiously. " Well, I can explain another time." He giggled sarcastically, " But I am worried about those two superheroes.". " why would you master?" Wayzz asks. " Such a foolish thing to say..." A butterfly arose their conversation. " You fly away you wretched butterfly!" Master Fu warned the black butterfly.

Back to Adrien's POV

Adrien was the first to break up the silence, " Plagg, where do you think is Ladybug?". " I don't know." Plagg said as he hovered back to Adrien's reach. " Should we start investigating?" He asked with slight sorrow. " I guess." Plagg replied as Adrien stood up and grabbed his bag. " Don't forget the umbrella." Plagg reminded before going out.

[Transformation Sequence]

" Plagg, Claws out!" he yelled as he transforms into Chat Noir and leaped off the tower.

Master Fu's POV

" And there he goes." Master Fu smiled and trapped the butterfly.

No one's POV

[Time Skip] 2 hours later

He landed near an alley and started approaching it. Chattering can be heard in the backround as the black cat penetrates through the darkness. " Marinette?" He quickly called out. " Ladybug!" He yelled, hoping she could hear. He went further down the dark alley. " Plagg, claws off." He whispered as he transforms back into Adrien. " This could be a good place to continue." Plagg said in joy. " You said that the few times we went to other places." Adrien replied with slight distress as the rain pours down.

" How can we find Ladybug." Adrien leaned near a wall. " Maybe she did disappear." He sobbed. " A-Adrien?" A familiar voice called the sobbing cat. Adrien recognize that stutter, It was Marinette. He looked around the alley, finding nothing. " Adrien, did you imagine again?" Plagg asked, snapping Adrien back into his conscious self.

" I... I-I think I did." He lost hope in finding Marinette or Ladybug. He left the alleyway crying softly as the kwami hovers sadly. A touch was felt, but Adrien ignored it. He stopped for second. " Whats wrong Adrien?" Plagg asked the paralyzed cat. " Nothing, I cant go further." He said struggling to penetrate through. " Im here...." A voice spoke infront of Adrien. " Marinette... is that you?" Adrien asked. " Quit imagining Adrien!" Plagg slapped Adrien. The wind blew subtle yet strong. He couldn't see Marinette or Ladybug so he moved on. " Look kid, I'm very sorry about Ladybug, But it is time to move on." Plagg explained but Adrien wouldn't stop.

[Scene: Agreste's Mansion]
[Time Skip] Late Night

Adrien went back into looking into the window when he heard news playing in the living room. He slowly approached the TV, revealing a tragic accident.

We somehow picked up different evidences of Ladybug's exsistence via feeling touches and hearing small whispers. The voice appears to have some sort of relationship to our very own Adrien Agreste. But other than that, scientist speculate Ladybug dead. As you see in a nearby cemetary, there is a mysterious grave planted between two famous people saying 'Here lies Ladybug, Paris' most beloved superheroine'. This is however unconfirmed. Watch out Parisians, Paris is haunted by a ghost from an unconfirmed death. New news to come.

Adrien felt like fainting. " Ladybug?? Dead?!" He was shocked and slowly sobbed
