Amy POV
Okay, I know I shouldn't but I am. I'm calling Chloe about the date.
"Hellope?" Chloe answers casually.
"Hey, Chloe. You know about the dinner tonight?" Chloe mhmms. "You do realise that Beca's completely oblivious to the date part, right?" I hear Chloe chuckle on the other end.
"Had a feeling she wouldn't realise." Chloe says, amusement clear in her voice. "Thanks for clearing it up though." I sigh.
"No worries Chloe. Just don't hurt her, okay?"
"Of course not and if I do, feel free to hit me." Chloe says.
"I may appear soft but I'm an Aussie mate and if you hurt lil' Bec I will rally the dingos and come marchin' to your doorstep." I say, purposely thickening my accent.
"Of course, if that happens I'll be ready and waiting." I hang up. Oh god, Beca is so screwed.

Beca PoV
I bite my lip nervously and look in the mirror. It wasn't a date. Chloe just wanted to do something nice for me since my dad was being an ass. Right, okay. Not a date. I stare at my black jeans and blue blouse. Casual but still kind of fancy. I was wearing my nicest boots after all. I sigh and look back in the mirror. Not a date. I repeat to myself. Do I want it to be a date? Would it be different if I thought it was a date? Did Chloe think it was a date? I groan. What if Chloe did think it was a date? I start fretting and the twist the ring on my finger. I wish Amy was here. I wasn't really comfortable calling her Fat Amy, even though she wants me to. I sigh and sit down, checking the time. 5:47. Almost time, cool, cool. I take a deep breath. Trying to calm myself. Chloe didn't say what we were doing, well apart from dinner, so I decided against a skirt or dress. Not that I like dresses but you never know. Chloe's different. I don't really know how she's different but she is. I'm still not completely comfortable with her getting in my personal space but it also has a slight pleasant feel to it and that feeling seems to be growing. For some reason, I'm okay with it. I know I'm queer but I'm not a big fan of labels so I never really thought about it. I definitely don't like boy's guns, if you know what I mean, they make me feel slightly sick for some reason. Maybe it's how they look. However, I do enjoy romantic relationships with them. I sigh and rub my forehead, checking the time again. 5:50. Okay, I can last ten minutes, even if the last three felt like forever. I can't seem to stay still and Kimmy Jin sends me an annoyed look. I'm still not sure what the deal is with her but she's glaring at me less so I guess I'm warming up to her, at least a little bit. I bite my lip and look towards the door. Wondering yet again what this night has install for me. Just dinner? Some other activity? I bite my lip nervously. What kind of things does Chloe do? I'm sure she has other interests outside of acapella but I'm not sure what. I know she parties with Stacie but she said it was meant to be relaxing. I frown as I realise I don't know much about Chloe, or the other Bellas for that matter. They all look like they would be fun to hang out with but I'm just too nervous.

I hear a knock on the door and spring to my feet. Quickly slipping my phone into my pocket, along with some money, while making my way towards the door. Excitement and a little bit of fear cursing through me. I open the door and Chloe beams at me, giving me a quick once over. My cheeks tinge pink but I return the favour. She's beautiful. With her hair out and a beautiful blue dress along with some high heels. She smirks as our eyes meet again.
"I knew you'd wear some of your nicest jeans." Amusement clear in her voice. A grin reaches my lips as I notice her playfulness.
"Of course, you're wearing a dress." I shoot back, having more confidence then usual. Not a date, I remind myself. She does a little twirl and shoots me a confident smile.
"Like?" She questions. My cheeks turn red but I nod. Oh, do I like. She laughs and grabs my wrist, not quite my hand, and starts dragging me down the hall. I manage to shut the door without falling on my face and try my best to keep up with Chloe. She has slightly longer legs then me.

She lets go once we reach her car and I slide in, nervously biting my lip. I turn to Chloe after she climbs in.
"Can I know where we're going?" I ask cautiously. Chloe shrugs with a smile.
"I guess. It's nothing too special just a quiet diner about twenty minutes away." She sends me a smirk. "I save the special stuff for next time." My cheeks grow warm and I duck my head. Next time? I wonder. She wears a smile the whole drive there while I fiddle with my ring, looking out the window every now and then.

The diner is smaller then I expected and quiet just like Chloe said. It had a nice dark wood design along with fairy lights hanging about the place. I expected something spontaneous from Chloe. It always seemed to me that she was but you never know, maybe she's carefully planned her every move. I'm not really sure any more. We get seated in a rounded booth and I smile shyly at her next to me. I search my mind for a topic.
"What do you study?" I ask curiously, my anxiety slowly fading as I stare into her calming blue eyes. She smirks at me.
"I study Lit, what about you?" She asks, amusement clear in her eyes. My face darkens.
"Philosophy." I mutter under my breath, just loud enough for her to hear. Stupid dad. Something flickers across Chloe's face and her smirk falters.
"Right, well, what made you join the Bellas?" She questions, leaning forward on her elbows. I shrug. It was kind of a sore spot but it had gotten better. I rub the back of my neck.
"Well, my dad said that if I joined a club and at least tried to enjoy it he would help me move to LA and I...well the help would be nice." I said, rethinking the last bit. I do want to open to Chloe I just don't think I'm quite ready yet. Chloe winces.
"But you enjoy it now, right?" She asks, a tad of vulnerability behind her eyes. I give her a shy smile.
"I'm still here, aren't I? He asked me to do it for at least a month." I shrug and look down, embarrassed.
"Why do you want to go to LA?" She asks, a hand slinking under the table. My cheeks colour.
"I um...I sort of want to produce music." I mumble, playing with my ring. I sneak a look at Chloe and her face lights up but she doesn't anything. I suddenly feel a hand on my knee and tense up. I can't help it, even if I am beginning to like it. I also can't help the blood rushing to my face. She traces circles with her finger, couldn't tell you which. Why did we sit in a booth? I thought this was supposed to be a relaxing, calming dinner. A waiter comes over and Chloe pouts a little, whatever she was planning ruined...or stalled. I look at the waiter and groan, this can't be happening. Jesse looks at me and that stupid grin appears on his face.
"Beca! Fancy seeing you here." He says before looking at Chloe. "And with a fellow acapella! "How you doing?" I ask and Chloe sends him a suspicious look.
"Treble?" She asks, eyeing him. He nods before winking at Beca.
"We're going to have Aca-babies, it's inevitable." Jesse says, looking back at Chloe. Chloe narrows her eyes at him. I pick up the menu and wack him with it.
"I've talked to you once." I hiss at him. He chuckles.
"Jesse!" Someone scolds from behind the counter.
"Oh, right, I'm at work." Jesse says. "What can I get you two fine ladies this evening?" Chloe purses her lips.
"I'll get the chicken salad." Chloe says
"I'll get the spaghetti." I told him quickly, hoping he leaves quickly.
"Righty-o." Jesse says, quickly writing that down. He then takes his leave and I breathe a sigh of relief. Chloe gives me a look.
"You know him?" She asks, wrinkling her nose. "A Treble of all people." She mutters. I sigh and roll my eyes.
"I work with him at the radio sta-coffee shop." I manage to catch myself. Chloe raises an eyebrow and leans forward. Apparently, not fast enough.
"I'm sorry, what was that? Radio what..?" She prompts. My face colours.
"The coffee shop. I said the coffee shop." I squeak. A smirk graces Chloe's lips and she shakes her head.
"No, you were saying radio something and then you changed your answer." Chloe says with a knowing smirk. Oh, no.
"I-uh-no...um-I..." I stutter out, Chloe's smirk growing. "Okay..so I don't work at a coffee shop." I say sheepishly. I know she already knew that I didn't but still.
"So, where do you really work?" Chloe asks, her hand sneaking back onto my knee.
"Uh...no where?" I say, more as a question then an answer. Chloe's smirk is victorious and she starts rubbing circles again. I gulp. Good lord.
"I think you're lying to me." Her hand goes slightly higher. I avoid her gaze. What is happening? A ringing makes me jump. The hell? Oh, it's my phone. I pull it out of my pocket and check the ID. It's Amy, why is she calling me?
"One sec, Chlo." I say distractedly. I notice that she pouts but seems to brighten at the nickname. I answer the call. "What's up Amy?" I ask.
"Beca, where are you?" Fat Amy asks, her voice sounds strained. I frown. Chloe gives me a curious look.
"I'm with Chloe, you know that. Why?" I begin to grow concerned. Amy is always aloof.
"You need to come back. Right now." Amy says.
"What is it?" I hiss impatiently. Jesse comes over with the food.
"It's your mum, Beca. Your mum's back." My phone slips from my grasp and I stand up.
"Oh, shit."
