"Babe, can you bring me a towel?" I called out to Tyler as I stepped out of the shower.

It was New Year's Eve and Tyler and I were getting ready for a party one of our friends was throwing later in the night.

After dinner with Gigi and her friends the other night, Tyler and I had been getting along better. When he drove back to my apartment that night, we sat in his car for about two hours just talking and joking around. Hanging out with friends put him in a good mood, and even though neither of us brought up our passive aggressive fights, everything seemed to have gone back to normal. Tyler even slept over at my apartment every night since that day, and only went to his own place to grab clean changes of clothes. I was still tip-toeing around him whenever anyone mentioned the movie and/or Harry, but we were making progress and that was all I could ask for.

"You're dripping water all over the floor," he said as he walked into the bathroom and threw me a towel.

I just rolled my eyes in response.

"Is Mia on her way yet?" I asked. She was coming over to do my hair and makeup, but wouldn't be accompanying us to the party.

"Yeah, she texted when you were still in the shower, so she should be here soon," he responded and began brushing his teeth by the sink.

After drying myself off, I walked into my closet to change into my party outfit. It consisted of a black, faux leather skirt with silver chain-link detail, and a sequined, sleeveless top. It was simple and kind of boring, but I had very little desire to get too dressed up. It was just New Year's Eve, after all.

As I got dressed, I heard Tyler opening the front door to my apartment and welcoming Mia inside. A few seconds later, she walked into my bedroom with a vase of light pink peonies in hand.

"What's with those?" I asked, as I went over to sit in front of my vanity.

"They're from Evan," Mia responded. "They were delivered as I was leaving my place, and I didn't want to go back just to put them in my apartment," she said, placing them on my bedside table.

"I'm curious as to how he knows they're my favorite flower. And where I live," she added, scrunching up her face in confusion.

I smiled mischievously. I told him both of those things, but she didn't need to know that. Ever since the cast party, Evan had been asking me for help in asking Mia out. I finally gave in about a week ago, mainly because he was getting annoying, but also because he seemed to genuinely like her, and Mia deserved someone who was super into her.

"Weird," was all I said in response.

After setting up her work station, Mia began working her magic on my face, dabbing and blending products onto my skin.

"Have you spoken to you-know-who lately?" she whispered after a few moments of silence.

Tyler was still in the living room, most likely eating, but I whispered back anyway, "You mean Harry?"

"No, I mean Lord Voldemort," she retorted, rolling her eyes at me, "Of course I mean Harry."

"No," I said. "We're not exactly friends nor do I really have a reason to talk to him."

"He got you a gift; only a friend would do that," she said, emphasizing the word.

"They were just cycling shoes. You're acting like he gave me an engagement ring," I laughed.

"He may as well have given you an engagement ring. When has Tyler ever given you a thoughtful gift that actually panders to your interests?" She asked, raising an eyebrow at me.
