"That's it! I'm done! I'm never going back there," Jungkook stated, crossing his arms and huffing.
"Really? Cool, I'll go check him out myself," Hoseok shrugged, nonchalantly giving the younger a sideways look, achieving the desired result - Jungkook immediately bristled.
"No! I lied! He's mine," Jungkook sniffed, and Hoseok laughed.
"You're so cute," He cooed, pinching his dongsaeng's cheeks.
"No hyung," Jungkook tried to stop him before giving up and just letting the elder mush his cheeks together to give him fish lips.
"Hyung, what should I do?" Jungkook managed to ask in between the various expressions the elder was morphing his face into.
"Man up maybe?" He suggested, letting go and looking him in the eye.
"Seriously, just buy some chocolate or something nice for him on the way and then go ask him for his name and a date," Hoseok smiled, as if it was the easiest thing in the world.Jungkook grumbled under his breath but he knew his hyung was right.
"Alright, I'll do that," He nodded, provoking a cheer from his colleague, who immediately jumped up out of his seat.
"Hey, where are you going?"
Hoseok ignored him and headed away whilst Jungkook just shrugged and continued typing on his laptop, flinching when the ever-happy Hoseok flopped down into the seat next to him with glee.
"Namjoon agreed! Go, go!"
"What? Agreed to what?" Jungkook was thoroughly confused, and Hoseok giggled.
"I told Namjoon you're sick and need to go home. He agreed, now goooo," Hoseok pushed Jungkook from his chair, and the latter had to grab onto the table so he didn't fall onto the floor.
"But I'm not sick...?"
"Lovesick," Hoseok cackled evilly, shooing away the younger with a smug smile. Jungkook rolled his eyes at his hyung's childishness but couldn't prevent the corners of his lips from twitching into a smile as he grabbed his things and headed for the door of the office.
"Good luck loser!"
"Shut up hoe!" Jungkook called back to the grinning Hoseok who stuck his tongue out at him, before turning back to his work.
Jungkook grinned and clutched his briefcase tighter.
Today he was going to ask the boy on a date.
Sure he didn't know his name, or his age, or his favourite colour, if he was single, or even whether or not he liked boys, but he didn't care. He'd rather know and get rejected than never know.
These were Jungkook's thoughts getting into his car as he drove off to the shops.
Now, standing in front of the café holding a small cream fluffy teddy bear and a single red rose, he wasn't so sure.
What if he says no? What if he laughs? What if he gives that horrible pathetic look of sympathy that nice people always give when they reject someone?
I just won't be able to show my face in this café again if it happens, he gulped. Shaking his head to rid the negative thoughts, Jungkook stepped inside the café, thankful that it was almost empty today - less people to be humiliated in front of.
"Hello Yoongi," Jungkook mumbled nervously, making the said barista look up.
And gasp.
"OHH," Yoongi's hands flew up to his mouth as he spotted the things in Jungkook's hand, and gave the younger a gummy smile.
"Are they for who I think they're for?"
"I think so...?" Jungkook rubbed the back of his neck, staring at the counter whilst Yoongi jumped up and down. This was the most active Jungkook had seen the elder and it made him smile a little bit.
"Tell you what, I'll order you a caramel macchiato on the house, and I'll get him to bring it to you, okay?" Yoongi offered, and Jungkook gave him a grateful smile, thanking the older boy before sitting down at his regular table, jiggling his leg nervously, his hand clenching and unclenching around the stem of the flower.
When he could see, out of the corner of his eye, a figure coming towards him, his breath hitched.
It was now or never.
Just as the person was about to say something Jungkook squeezed his eyes shut and held up a hand.
"Wait!"
He took a deep breathe, before speaking his mind.
"Okay- so...erm...the first time I saw you 3 days ago, I saw you in the kitchen and...you were so h-handsome, and I-I knew I had to come back and see you again, and I kept coming back b-but I could never find out your name a-and it just got too much and I don't e-even know if you're s-single I just want you to know that ireallylikeyousowillyougoonadatewithme!" Jungkook finished off quickly, holding out the rose in the direction he assumed the boy was standing, still with his eyes squeezed shut.
It all happened within the blink of an eye.
Jungkook's outstretched arm collided with a tray and his eyes flew open, just in time to see the tray full of food smash to the floor in a colourful display. His head jerked up and his jaw dropped.
It wasn't even him.
It was Taehyung.
"T-taehyung?" He whispered in disbelief at the tall boy who was staring at him with a loss for words. Behind Taehyung, Jungkook could see the whole café was silent.
Yoongi was standing at the counter with wide eyes, and what was even worse was the person stood next to him.
He stood next to Yoongi watching the scene with an unreadable expression.
The boy he liked just watched him - albeit mistakenly - confess to another guy. And then cause a huge mess.
Jungkook had never wanted the floor to open up and swallow him whole as much as he had in that moment, not even that time when his boss Namjoon had called him in to shout at him for doing a lousy job when he'd first started at the company.
"N-no wait-"
Taehyung bent down to start picking up bits of smashed plate whilst Yoongi and Jimin rushed over with a dust pan and brush and wipes to help.
All Jungkook could do was repeatedly apologise and watch with cheeks red from embarrassment.
"I hate myself," He muttered, resting his head in his hands as he thought of ways to salvage the situation.
He couldn't think of any.
