Meanwhile . . .

Short, light-skinned with brown eyes, Lozella sat outside as her mother, Lola, was being put in the grave. She wiped a tear from her eyes as she saw her being lowered. She said a prayer to herself as she walked over along with others planting flowers inside. Lola had cancer and had died slowly. Her battle finally ended and Lozella was heartbroken. She turned around hugging all the family that came to see Lola away. She comforted them, letting them know that food would be served at her home.

Lozella made it home and people were already starting to arrive behind her. She let them in, letting them know where the food and plates were. She wasn't in the mood to socialize. Walking up to her mother's room, she looked around at the memories, going through her closet, hugging on her clothes, wishing she was still there with her. She went to lie on her bed, picking up one of her plush pillows when an envelope fell out. Lozella bent over, picking it up. It had her name on it. She opened it seeing it was a letter from her mom. The letter her mom was telling her about before she died. She began to read it:

Dear Baby Girl,

I wrote you this letter because I didn't have the guts to tell you in person. I know you may be hurt but I hope you can forgive me. A long time ago, I told you that Chico was your father and he tossed us to the side when he found out I was pregnant. That's not entirely the truth. The truth is, Psycho is your father, your real father. He never did anything to hurt me but I definitely hurt him and I was afraid if he found me he would kill me. Besides, I couldn't face him after I set him up and got him locked away for ten years. I'm so sorry baby girl. Psycho was murdered five years ago by his son, your brother and a man named Snake. I've told you about them, remember? This letter will reach you eventually and when it does, I want you to know that I love you and I was doing what was best for the both of us. I just couldn't leave this world without at least knowing I attempted to give you the truth about the other side of you. When me and your father first met, he had a girlfriend-Margarete-and two other children, Alyssa and Lorenzo Jr. So he was never all mine. Then I met Chico who was a great guy and promised to put me on top of the world, but we both know how that went. I set your father up and he never knew about you or anything so don't blame him. I hope this brings you a little bit of closure. I Love you.
