WARRIORS OF THE ELEMENTS : THE INFINITY GAUNTLET

PROLOGUE

         Jason Grandeur at age 14 was by no means normal. He could control fire. Something which both helped and destroyed his reputation. This ability landed him in trouble quite a lot of times. For example in the Chemistry Lab in school he accidentally raised the temperature of the flame that was heating his beaker, thereby causing his beaker to explode and splutter the contents on him. Then there was the time when he raised the temperature of the gas at home a little too much that it accidentally set of the fire systems(the sprinklers on the ceiling) to rain down on the house. That little incident caused his younger brother, Evan to get soaking wet once again after being bombarded with water balloons by his friends.

His younger brother Evan Grandeur at age 12 on the other hand could control earth. That is he could make enough nutrients in the soil to make a plant that would take a year to grow, grow just in an hour. He could also predict earthquakes. Already two of his predictions had come true, predicting that there would be earthquakes in Brazil and quite a far place and also his mother’s birthland, Tokyo in Japan.

Jason and Evan’s mom was Anne Grandeur, a Japanese native who was then Anne Morimoto had come to the states for further studies and had met their father Luis Grandeur and had fallen in love with him and then after three years of dating both of them got married.

Luis was a researcher on ancient archaeological finds related to the ancient Japanese Elemental Signs. Then suddenly once in the middle of his work he had gone missing in a cave and his body was never found again.

No matter how many rescuers went in, nobody found the body of Luis Grandeur and three months later he was presumed dead.

This had taken quite a heavy toll on the three Grandeurs who were distraught throughout the following year.

There were many sympathies, especially from Jason’s best friend, Elana Clark and her family. Jason, Evan and Elana were very close. They all laughed and enjoyed and had fun together.

What was strange about Elana was that like her friends – Jason and Evan both being able to control an element, she could too. She could control water. She could cause water to overflow at a place, cause it to rise up in the air, cause it to rain any place at any time. Even the driest of deserts. Hell, she could even stop the rain from pouring down on certain parts. When their Environment teacher saw their powers, she realized that these three would make one awesome Green Team.

But of course, fate had other plans for them. Our story starts here, in Empire High, the school which Jason, Evan and Elana attended in Manhattan.
