“Why, you’re absolutely right Evan dear! How did you guess?” asked Mrs. Conner sarcastically. “Well, it’s ‘cause of the shuriken.” said Evan, his voice layered with sarcasm not wanting to lose a sarcasm battle.
“Evan dear, flattery will get you nowhere.” said Mrs. Connor. “Evan I think you should listen to Her Diabolicalness.” said Jason. “Jason dear if you want others not to flatter people then you should not be doing it either.” “I agree with her” said Ellie. “Ellie you’re siding with the bad guys now?” asked a very disgusted Evan. “I was just saying that she’s right about the flattery, Ev,” Ellie protested “And I doubt we should be fighting against ourselves.”
“Ellie’s right,” said Jason “We should be planning on how to defeat her” said Jason nodding his head towards Mrs. Conner.”
“Dear Jason,” Mrs. Conner said with a sweet-kind sort of tune “Do you really think that you can beat me? You don’t even know how to control your powers.” “So then our powers are special?” asked a bewildered Jason. “Your powers were special, Jason” came the reply.
And with that she took out three shurikens, wrote a Japanese symbol on them and threw them straight at the trio. There was no doubt that the shurikens were going to hit them.
Then suddenly a kunai, yes a kunai shot out of a nearby tree, passing straight through each shuriken and embedded itself in the tree in its path. The kunai looked like a barbeque rod with the shurikens as chicken and vegetables on it.
Everyone looked at the tree from which the kunai had shot out and the sight which met their eyes was unbelievable.
“Uncle Milos!”said Evan
“Uncle Milos?” said Jason.
“Uncle Milos?????” asked Ellie incredulously.
Milos Grandeur was Luis’ brother and assistant in his archaeological work. He visited them once a week and took the boys out for movies or video games. But seeing him in a ninja suit was just – well indescribable and unbelievable.
Ellie had met Uncle Milos once and had gone out with them and she thought of him as a normal, awesome uncle. Not a speedy, evasive ninja.
“Uncle what in all hell is going on?” asked a bewildered Jason who was going out of his mind. First the water slab then the Connor ninja and now Uncle Milos. “Kids go home. Ellie go with Jason and Evan, take them home. Explain what has happened to their mom. Go. Now!” “But Uncle Milos…” Evan started to protest but Ellie stopped him and said, “Evan you heard what he said! Let’s get going!”
“Go, Evan I can handle myself! Go!” said Uncle Milos. “Wait up! I’ll come with you! Said a familiar voice behind them. Evan whirled around and knew immediately who it was. “Hyosuke!” he said. Milos looked back and said, “Kazé! Go with them!” “Kazé?” asked Evan. “Yes, that’s my name,” said Hyosuke/Kazé “Oh forget it. I’ll explain on the way. Now come on! Let’s go! There’s a car outside waiting!”
“Come on! Let’s go!” And with that they left Uncle Milos fighting against a diabolical female ninja.
When they reached the car, the driver saw Kazé/Hyosuke and started the engine. Kazé took the front seat while Jason, Evan and Ellie took the back. The driver looked at them and asked Kazé, “These the three?” Kazé nodded and said, “Mrs. Anne’s place. Now.”
