I smiled upon reaching the venue.
Ang ganda talaga ng pinili naming church. It was one of the oldest churches here in the country, at dito kinasal ang parents niya. Since sixteen years old pa lang kami, desidido na siya na dito magpakasal.
And here we are now.
White roses and balloons decorated the place. A red carpet was in order. Everything seemed perfect. Pati ang panahon, nakiki-ayon. Ang ganda ng araw. This was how I imagined my wedding.
Yung mom and dad ni Gray, side by side, nag-uusap. No doubt, nirereminisce nila yung times na bata pa ang anak nila.
Look at him now.
Matured na matured na siyang tingnan, especially in his suit. His hair is still messily styled, he refused to comb it and part it in the middle. He had that easy grin, carefree pa rin, as always. Hinila siya ng coordinator and I lost sight of him.
"Ang gwapo niya." my mom said.
I would have agreed, but my thoughts were already in another time, another place.
Eight years ago, I met him. In fact, seatmates kami. Pero he didn't a single word to me for one month. Ganun siya ka taray.
"Ang gwapo niya. (*u* )"my best friend, Jane, whispered.
"Gwapo? Sang banda? At kung gwapo siya, na-cancel out din dahil sa katarayan niya."I complained. "I bet he doesn't even know my name.
Nakakainis. I've never been ignored like this before.
Later that day, napansin kong naka-smirk sa akin si Gray.
Last year, binasted mo yung tropa ko. The year before, binasted mo rin yung tatlo ko pang kabarkada. Sa pagkakaalam ko, man-hater ka raw. Kaya wag kang maangas, parehas lang tayong mataray."
"What?" nagtatakang tanong ko. "How does that make me 'mataray'? That doesn't mean na mataray ako, unlike you."
