I own nothing.

Chapter 3

When I got back to Sam's, I ran to the quest room I had slept in. I went trough my stuff, trying and failing to find a first aid kit. I groaned, the Empousa bite was hurting like Hades. I ran back downstairs and luckily found Emily in the kitchen.

"Good morning!" She said, smiling even though she had some nasty scars on her beautiful face.

"Morning! Would you mind giving me the first aid kit? I fell down on my run and broke the skin on my knee." A lie, but what can you do.

Emily frowned but nodded and went to fetch the kit. When she returned, I thanked her quickly and sprinted back to my room. The pain was killing me, literally. I poured cleansing solution straight into the wound and had to bite my tongue not to scream out loud. I poured some more until I was satisfied, using a large band-aid to cover it up. Then I began to search for some ambrosia and nectar. They would keep me alive while my body fought against the poison that had winded up into my blood by the bite. I lay down onto the bed and let the godly food do its work.

First day back and already two separate monster attacks. Nice, I was almost as lucky as Percy.

Finally, after an hour of just laying on the bed, the pain diminished. Although I had had ambrosia and nectar, I was still quite hungry, so I headed downstairs. I smelled the muffins the second I opened my door and ran all the way down. Ahh, muffins, my one and only weakness.

Emily smiled at me as I grabbed a blueberry muffin and poured myself a glass of milk.
"All sorted out, then?" She asked.
"Huh? Oh, yeah, it wasn't that bad, only a little cut."

"Sam up yet?"
Emily smiled again and shook her head. Holy Apollo that woman was all sunshine and daisies.

"I'll go wake him up," I said cheerfully. As I passed the fireplace, I threw the last of the muffin and whispered "Thanks, dad" to the fire.

To say that I was still pissed he had forgotten to fetch me yesterday was to put it mildly. I was enraged. My own big brother! Revenge was so sweet.

"Yo, lazy ass! Wake up, wake up, wake up." I jumped onto his bed, nearly jumping on him. The bastard just groaned, so I left to get something more efficient. When I returned, I poured the whole bucket of ice cold water over my dear big brother.

"What the hell! Ellie!" I ran away, laughing like a madman, while Sam got up and chased after me.

"Emily, save me!" I yelled and hid behind her. She laughed at the sight of Sam, water still dripping from his hair. He had an evil grin on his face. I squealed and ran outside, only to run into a wall of something soft but firm. I held my nose as I had hit it quite hard when running into the walk of muscle in front of me.

I looked up and smiled before running behind him.

"Paulie, save me! Sam is being mean!" My childhood best friend and crush, Paul Lahote had grown like the other Quileute boys I had seen. Last time we saw each other he was only a head taller than me, now I had to bend my neck just to be able to see his face.

But instead of laughing and playing along, Paul froze at the sight of me, I just didn't realise it until a moment later.

"Paul?" I peeked at him from behind his back. Paul turned to stare at me. Suddenly Sam came over, gripping Paul by the shoulder and dragging him outside. I attempted to follow them but Emily stopped me.
"They have some business to get over with. I think it's best if you and I wait here until they come back."

I knew she was keeping something from me, but for once I let it go. If it was important, I would find out eventually.

I could hear them yelling at each other. Then a loud bang, when someone hit the wall. Hard.
Finally they came back inside, Sam seething with rage, Paul eyeing him murderously.
