* tw: authoress trying really hard to perfect the "silent protag" charm but fails badly

It has been over a week since he first met her, and it has became a habit to him to come over to the rooftop and just sit there, relishing the silence. His friends where shocked to this change-- especially Junpei and Aigis. Being asked if he was sick was pretty hilarious, even though its just because of him not joining them for lunch. They'd still see him at classes and afterschool, what difference could it make?

Today was just one of those days. At the dismissal of the teacher for their break, everyone took their lunches and went their own ways. He waved goodbye to Yukari and the others, and went his usual pace towards the rooftop.

As always, she was already there, just bathing in the silence or whatever's playing in her headphones. She was sort of like him, he observed, but was more open to different kinds of music. One time, she was playing peaceful music he almost didn't hear, then the next song has rapid beats that sounds like battle music for some reason. She was also humming and bobbing her head, like she has no care in the world. Not like he does that sometimes.

He sat in his usual place, and she jolted up when she felt him do that. Hm, weird. She should've got used to that now, but he feels like there's another reason to that.

"Oh! It's just you." She sighed in relief, and started fiddling with the tip of her hair. He rose a eyebrow at this, finding this strange and... cute...? "Um, I'm really a dumb idiot, but uh..." She curses to herself silently, and looks down. "Ever since you sat here, you began coming here everyday... well, not really everyday! B-but, you get what I mean, right?" She looked at him curiously with her grey-- wait, there's a [e/c] somewhere in there too-- eyes. He nodded, urging her to continue silently. "Right. I-- uh, I just noticed that I never asked you your... name?" She asked, unsure. "I mean, you don't need to or anything! It's fine--"

"Arisato Minato."

"Huh?" She blinked, pausing her nervous rant. He felt the corners of his lips tug, and repeated himself.

"Arisato Minato. My name."

It took her a moment for that to sink in. "Oh. Oooh." She laughed slightly, facepalming. "I'm really sorry about my dumbness, I'm not really good with people." She looked at him again, with a smile on her face. Ah, more similarities. This girl surprises him more everyday. That reminds him...

"Yours?"

"Eh?"

"I mean, your name." He felt that tug on his lips again. "I gave you mine, and you should give yours, too."

This time, she facepalmed with both of her hands. "Oh, right. I'm sorry if I come out rude. It's [Last Name] [Name], from 3-- I mean 2-E." [1] He looked at her confusedly at her mistake. She noticed this and smiled nervously. "I just... read manga a bit too much."

Well, it was the same to him anyways, just video games. Also, isn't that Fuuka's class? He have to ask her later.

"It's nice to meet you, [Last Name]-san."

"It's fine if you just call me [Name], Arisato-kun."

"Okay."

The next thing he knew, they were just watching the sky together. Although it was a bit awkward than usual, he was fine with that.

He couldn't help but notice the gap between them has lessened...

He was fine with that, too.
