as a baby,
we are touched first
by the doctor,
followed by the nurses,
and then followed by your mother.
we are told that
skin to skin contact
is so important,
because it makes
the baby happier.
happiness isn't something
that I'm familiar with.
___________________________When I met you, we were so isolated from each other; too worried to come close as if we would scare each other away. But as my time with you grew, so did my love. We started speaking after school, and the first touch we shared was my hand resting on your waist and yours on my shoulder while we smiled for the picture that was being taken. I guess that's where we officially started, you know, being us. We've come a long way from that. When I talked to you, I had to make sure to be careful with what I said, because I didn't want to seem too eager. My eyes adored looking at you, and my heart loved you with a love that was more than love, and my mind, my mind had the best part. My mind saw you like you were the man who put the stars in the sky. To me, you still are, you're still the perfect boy I fell in love with a year ago, even with our ups and downs I continue to see everything I've ever imagined in the man I want to marry. It's crazy isn't it? How we started with our first words, and our first touch?
