The forest

Charlotte's P.O.V

   I was sat in front of my full length mirror, my music on full blast while I got ready for school. I had tried and tried but my hair was just bad. I sighed and stared at the big black mess that was my hair. Guess there's nothing I could do. I put it up into a ponytail and looked at my appearance. My pale face and mass of hair looked weird and my green eyes looked grey today. I rolled my eyes and picked up my phone. Time for another day of school. Yay. I just hoped I would see that guy today. I needed to talk to him. Oh God I really need to learn his name.

Mathew's P.O.V

   I arrived at school with a minute before first lesson. Walking to class I saw Charlotte walk past me with that boy, laughing as they went. I don't like him. There's something about him that makes me think he's trouble. That he will be trouble.

Charlotte's P.O.V

"Sam, what's that guys name?" I asked.

"Mathew I think, why?"He said curiously.

"Nothing, just wondered." I said.

   I watched him out of the corner of my eye as he went past. There's something about him. Something that makes me think that he wasn't gonna hurt me yesterday, that he really did care I was up there. I want to know what's going on.

   He wasn't wearing the hoodie today and I was surprised at what I saw. He  had very big muscle for a guy who was only 16. He was very tall to. He looked down at me all the time. I know I'm shorter then most girls but still.

"Sam I'm gonna see you break time OK." I said.

   He nodded and headed around the corner. I turned and called Mathew. He spun around and stared at me.

"Hey Mathew , can I talk to you for a sec." I asked walking up to him.

"Why were you in the forest yesterday?" I asked.

"I...I skipped first lesson yesterday and I needed somewhere to go."

"And why does that sound like an excuse?"

"OK... I... uhm I might have got curious about where you were going after you were standing there staring at me for so long. Why was that anyway."

   Wow, well this conversation had turned in the opposite direction. Trying to avoid it I asked.

"Do you wanna go up to the forest."

   His eyebrows raised and it looked like her was considering it. For a second it looked like he was going to say no. It took me by surprise when he said yes.

   I told him to follow me as I started my way to the school gates. I kept watch for teachers as we left the school. I'm not getting caught again. Mathew followed close behind me not saying a word. It wasn't an awkward silence though.

   once we were free and far away from the school gates we headed up the hill to the forest. I noticed  he walked quite fast and as I climbed up one bit he was stood at another waiting for me. He is kind I have to admit, always waiting for me to see if I was OK.

   We had gotten a fair distance from the school so I found a place and sat down. Mathew sat down next to me and I thought I should probably get to know him. I didn't know what to ask to him. This had never happened to me before as I would never get to know the new kid. A million questions went through my brain and I finally managed to pick one.

"Why do you like coming up here?" He asked before I could say anything.

"I... Uhm I normally come up here with Sam if we don't like a class plus its nice up here." I explained.

   He looked at me puzzled and then sighed. He stared at me as his eyes got bigger.

"Do you come up here a lot with Sam?" He asked.

"Most times yeah."

"Well I think I should be getting back to school." He said suddenly looking down at his watch.

   Well that was a good way of changing the subject. He got up from where he was sitting and walked away. He didn't speak. he ignored me as I walked beside him. What's his problem with Sam.

   We got back and it was like nobody noticed we were gone. That's what I like, no-one to snitch and get me another. As I walked to Sam, Mathew disappeared from beside me. There's something strange about that boy.
