It had been two weeks since Natsu's encounter with Gray and he still hadn't noticed Gray's presence in the slightest.

Natsu remained in his own little world.

Gray on the other hand, had everyones attention. He had become popular among the girls and guys at school. He had been asked to join various clubs and sports. A blue haired girl also tended to follow Gray around. 'What was her name again? Julia? Trivia? Oh, Juvia! Thats it!' Gray thought nothing about her presence, because everyone wanted to hang out with him and it was no surprise why. He had the looks, the confidence and the charisma of a prince.
Simply put, Gray became the most popular kid in school.

Natsu began to gather his notes before class started and slipped into another daydream, as per usual.

"Hey Natsu"

Images of Gray ran through his mind from that day they met.

"Uh... Natsu?"

His snow white skin and deep ocean blue eyes peaking from the messy looking midnight hair...

"NATSU!"

"Hmm?", Natsu awoke from his vision.

"Daydreaming again, eh?"

"Oh, hi Lucy"Natsu hadn't felt the blush damcing across his face. Lucy sighed

"It's him again, isn't it?" At this point, Lucy knew all about Natsu and Gray's encounter in front of his locker and how he left with a crush on Gray. Even though he wouldn't admit to it. Natsu, just nodded in reply to her inquiry.

"I knew it. The look on your face says it all. It's sooooo adorable!" Lucy giddied (do people even still use that word?)

"I can't keep him off my mind" Natsu

"Hell, I can see why. He is in most of our classes" Lucy pointed out, but when she looked at Natsu, he had blamk expression on his face. Like a deer caught in headlights. He was seriously confused.

"Aaand you have been completly oblivious if this the entire time" Lucy mentally face palmed. She honestly couldn't believe sometimes how immensly dense Natsu could be. Seriously, one time there was an accident in the science lab and a fire started. Everyone started panicking and screaming, but Natsu. Oh Natsu just sat there, staring at the flames and was actually about to touch them until Lucy shook him awake. She may as well tell him...

"Natsu, Gray shares, like five or six classes with us and you didn't notice once?"

Natsu blushed furiously. Had he really not noticed Gray was in any of his classes? 'W-what?!? How? When? Damnit Natsu, start paying more attention!!! 'As soon as Natsu realizes this, he saw Gray rush through the door, hoping he wasn't late. Lucy on the other hand went to talk to her girlfriends and let Natsu comprehend what she said.

Gray glanced over at Natsu. He had obviously noticed him and Natsu turned to look out the window.

Gray found his seat and sat down. He looked over at Natsu again, just to watch him stare out the window. He couldn't stop himself. He thought Natsu was adorable when he was deep in thought. 'Hm? Adorable? Natsu? No, not like that..right? Just in a friendly way'. Gray had been watching Natsu for a week now. He was trying to figure out what it was about Natsu that had him so entranced.

Was it his voice? The way he walked gracefully down the hallway? Was it his hair? 'I mean it's bright pink! Who wouldn't find that interesting!'. Maybe it was the way his school uniforn hung loosely on his slender frame, making him look like a little kid playing dress up. Gray couldn't put his finger on it! Whatever the case may be, it kept Gray preoccupied.

Class started and the teacher was droning on about trigonometric functions. Nothing ever seemed so boring in all of history and history class was even less enjoyable than maths. It felt like torture from boredom so Gray decided to focus his attention on Natsu again. Despite not speaking much in class, it clear that he was very smart. The teacher called on him with more of the difficult questions and he always responded with a soft gentle voice, filled with melancholy. Then afterwards he went to staring out the window.

Gray watched the pinkette for a few more minutes. Something had changed on Natsu's face. What was it? Gray leaned forward trying to get a closer look at what had changed and his heart nearly jumped out of his chest. He had never seen that look on Natsu's face before.

Natsu was actually... smiling
