Chapter 02 - Voyage to a Kingdom

Once everyone was informed of the new information gathered, they had started packing up. The girls stayed behind, their goals were to stay here incase any dangers had hit their city. They packed their loads of foods, their spraypaint (just in case), the weapons they chose out back at the kingdom and everything needed for the journey. Sub and Sketch found a way to pack all the food in a computer chip for more storage, but all the food packed was filled in 5 different chips, which seemed pretty wasteful but worth it.

...

"You stay safe, got that Jorge?" Anthony and Jorge's parents said to Jorge, who was in the process of packing his stuff.

"I'll be okay. I know I will. I survived wars of the kingdom, I can survive thie." Jorge answered, determined. Anthony and his parents smiled, and hugged him.

"We love you."

...

Chris and Carlo ran back and forth to get their wand, daggars, food, supplies and other things needed, their father watching them rush.

"Whoa, whoa! Slow down kiddos." Their father said, stopping them to rest. "I know you two are a bit... all over the place to find mom but... there's no rush, is there?"

Chris and Carlo looked at each other with silent questions. They then sighed.

"You're right. I'm just excited and determined to find mom again." Chris said.

"And you will, Chris. We know you can."

"Heh, c'mere you kids. You stay safe when you leave."

...

Sub and Sketch were getting technical stuff ready for the trip, putting everything in computer chips and a new bandage ready.

"Father, are you sure I need a new bandage? Everyone is alright with me and my one eye." Sub said.

"Although our city is okay with yours, it might not be okay with others... this is for safety. I can't lose you, my greatest creation. You must stay away from water." Sketch said.

"I will, father." Sub took the bandage and hugged Sketch.

...

Tyler was about ready to leave by going the front door when Janet grabbed his shoulder to stop him.

"You ain't gonna say goodbye to your old woman?" She asked, her raspy voice the same. Tyler met her eyes, a faint grin on her face. Tyler smiled, and went in for a hug to Janet. She was shocked, but smiled and hugged Tyler.

"M'boy, you gotta promise me somethin'." She whispered into Tyler's ear. Tyler's eyes widened, feeling Janet's grip on her hug tightening and a single warm tear fall on Tyler's shoulder.

"Promise me that you'll come back safe. I don't wanna lose you like I lost'cha cousin, ya got me?"

"Heh, I promise, Janet." Tyler responded, tearing up a bit. Sometimes, Tyler wished he never let go of the warm embrace of Janet. It made him feel at home. But Janet did, knowing Tyler had important business. Tyler gazed once more at Janet, and laughed.

"I haven't seen you cry since my 'funeral'." Tyler chuckled, using his hands to make air quotations.

"S-Shut up, now go before I take my words back!" She said, jokingly and shooing him off. Tyler laughed, closed the door and jumped out the window he had always jumped off. Janet panicked a bit, and looked outside and saw him get pixelated away.

"Stupid asshole." She said, giggling a bit as she closed the door and fixed his bed he left messy.

...

As Tyler rolled on the floor after Sub had caught him in his pixels, the boys had their outfits on, weapons hanging on their sides and backs and their feet ready to run out of the city. The civilians stood behind them, cheering them on for their new bound quest they were ready to take on.

"Chris, wait!" Lasata exclaimed running towards Chris with Ashley and Krisalee behind her.

"H-Here..." Lasata handed Chris a red scarf and wrapped it around his neck.

"Oh my god... thank you Lasata." He said, leaning in and gave her a kiss on her forehead. Ashley gave Carlo a pack of sushi and a hug. Krisalee made sure Jorge was ready.

"Be careful." They said.

"We will." The boys responded.

'This is it...' Jorge thought in his head. 'A quest that seems more difficult than the last. This may cost us our lives, but our hearts will remain.

Right?'

Skidding feet hit the concrete floor, the 5 boys running as the echoing cheers of the city rang through the streets. Passing colors for the boys from their created murals of their story took attention to the boys. It's like some T.V show, scripted. But to them...

It was adventure calling.

"Ready to die?" Chris asked jokingly, panting and laughing in between.

"For mom!" Carlo exclaimed, raising his wand.

"For peace." Sub said, clutching his jacket to where his heart is placed.

"For promises!" Tyler yelled, cupping his hands to his mouth.

"For adventures." Jorge said, determined and taking his dual blades out.

"To the kingdom beyond!"
