"I'm sorry, Amethyst" Pearl apologized. Amethyst's eyes widened, tears threatening to fall again. "I hope you can forgive me," Pearl continued on gently, closing her lachrymose eyes. "You're the one good thing that came out of this mess. I always thought you were proud of that," came her kindly, tranquilizing voice, resounding through the hole. Pearl extended her hand to Amethyst. The latter looked at it and took it as Pearl helped her out. They both stood outside, Amethyst crossing her arms. She moved her bangs, glanced at Pearl, and hugged her tearfully. The taller gem hugged her back comfortingly, a pale blue blush dusting her cheeks.
Amethyst woke up suddenly from her dream, which had replayed a memory from not too long ago. "How long was I asleep?" She wondered silently, looking around. Nobody accompanied her presence in the quiet room. "Oh," she thought, "So no one's here." Even if someone was, however, she thankfully wasn't a gem who unconsciously projected her dreams (*cough* Pearl *cough*).
Furthermore, she didn't always share what she felt and thought, be it voluntarily or not.
