"Okay, I think I get it..." she said, pushing the cookie in her mouth and chewing it.

"So to make things easier for my studies, I'll bluntly ask now, though I probably should've a while back then," Peridot said. "Do you have romantic feelings of affection for Pearl?" Amethyst spit out her cookie. "Hey!" the green gem complained.

"Sorry, nerd," Amethyst apologized as the said gem brushed off crumbs from her front, slightly annoyed. "But how did you know?! I mean, I never told you or ANYONE ELSE, and then you suddenly just figure it out?!" Peridot sat in silence for a while, and spoke again.

"I'll take that as a 'yes'?" Amethyst nodded quickly, her cheeks turning a deep purple.

"Shh, Pearl and Steven might come back any minute now!"

"They'd have to return using the warp pad! And if such is the case, we'd be given enough time to stop talking when we hear it activate," Peridot assured her.

"Okay... but that still doesn't answer my question on how you knew!" Amethyst exclaimed in confusion, closing the jar. "Shoot, what if Pearl knows too?"

"She doesn't. But I have been observing you for a while now. You appear to trust Pearl a lot. You relatively seem more relaxed and happy with her. You have concern for her. You argue with her a lot, but despite that, you still care for her, and you resolve your differences well. You blush slightly when you talk about her. You have made some strange conversations, which you ended nonchalantly, but I could sense that the next appropriate phrase that would fit so well in those situations is "I like you". I have studied a lot, you know? I could keep going on, but the point is, you really seemed like you liked her. So I asked." Amethyst stared at her.

"Wow. Just wow." She said slowly. "But what can I do about it?"
