Chapter Ten

'The snow is starting to fall from the sky more often...' Cherī thought looking up at said sky. It was a little past 8am when she woke up.

'Its about time that we head out Cherī.' Ken spoke, nodding her head she got ready to head out into the Rukongai for the day but first she had to tell the Head Captain which she wasn't looking forward too.

After getting dressed in her Shihakushō, Cherī rushed out the barracks using Shunpo to get to the 1st division barracks. Upon arriving at the barracks, she was greeted by many of the members of the squad. She didn't greet them, she had to get out of there soon because once she tells her grandfather about her plans he would automatically send someone with her. Stopping in front of the doors to his office, she raised her hand knocking against the wood before entering only to see three Captains and a handful of others.

"You can go but they will acompany you to you destination. Dismissed." Her eye twitch in annoyance. She didn't even have to tell them she would be leaving. They already knew!!

'Damn it all! I should've just left without telling them!'

'And I thought we were going to have peaceful day.' She heared Ken sigh.

'You got that right.' She walked across the room before going into a full out run heading for the balcony.

"H-hey!"

"Cherī! What do you think you are doing!?"

"Stop you idiot!" Cherī placed her palm on the railing pushing herself up in the air smirking at the scared looks on her friends' faces.

"See ya!" Cherī let out a laugh as she flew through the cold wind. Back at the office few of the many people starred over the railing in shock.

"We better go after her or we might lose her. She just had to take after her mother."

Cherī rushed towards one of the gates as she felt Shunsui's reiatsu closing in on her from behind. Making a sharp turn to the left she smirked thinking she got away from him, looking over her shoulder to see if he was following her but he wasn't, he just had a smile on his face waving at her. She came to a stop looking around knowing that something was wrong.

"Now where do you think you are going?" A voice spoke, looking behind her she saw it was none other than Aizen. Letting out a small yelp, moving back but she misplaced her footing falling down the roof of the building landing on her back.

"Ow! That really hurt! Aizen! You scared me on purpose didn't you!?" Aizen raised an eyebrow watching her as she slowly sat up before standing up but fell back down in the snow with a pained look.

"Something wrong?" He asked kneeling in front of the young woman. She just scowled.

"I twisted my ankle because you scared me, idiot!" Cherī got a handful of snow throwing it at the man in front of her but he moved out the way. Aizen just chuckled clearly amused.

"Come, the others are waiting for us."

"Others?" She climbed onto his back, wrapping her arms around his neck. Aizen used Shunpo to get to the gate quicker. Once they arrived they saw Shunsui and Gin waiting for them along with Rangiku, Momo, Izuru and Nanao.

"I- I can't believe you guys! I can take care of myself!" Cherī yelled from Aizen's back. He desided to carry her to rush over to the gate where the others were waiting for them.

"Really? Then why is Captain Aizen carrying you, Cherī?" She glared at Shunsui who was giving her a teasing smile.

"S-shut up! I swear Shunsui keep it up and I'll beat you to a pulp, you got that!?" She growled, her face flushed in embarrassment. Shunsui placed a hand over his heart with a hurt look but she noticed the mischievous look in his eyes.

"You hurt my feelings, my little cherry drop."

"Why you! Put me down Sōsuke! Let me at him!" He didn't have a choice but to listen to her, once she felt the ground underneath her foot she rushed over the the man. Taking a step forward pain appeared causing her to fall on one knee.

"I forgot about that.." Cherī placed a hand over the injury, her hand light up in a soft blue color before it changed to a orange color before it vanished. Standing up she flashed stepped behind the group as the gates started to open.

"Come on. I suggest you all stay close together or you might die, but you don't have to worry about small detail."

"Don't scare them now, Cherī." Shunsui said patting the green eyed woman's head, Cherī sticked her tongue at him.

"Let's get going."

"How long until we arrive?" Izuru asked. He and the rest of the lieutenants where huddled into a small group in the center as his Captain was behind them, Aizen on the left next to his lieutenant, Shunsui on the right with his lieutenant as Cherī was leading them.

"About half an hour more."

"Wha~?! Cherī, can't we take a break? Some of us aren't fast like you!" Looking over her shoulder she noticed how tired they looked.

"There's a river not to far from where we are, we'll be there in a few minutes."

"A river? It should be covered in a thick layer of ice by now." Momo spoke as they turned to the left.

"I'm sure it is, but that's for the time being." A few minutes they came to the stop in a clearing near a frozen river.

"It should be around here somewhere.." Cherī mumbled looking around the area.

"You look for the markings while I take care of your Soul Reaper friends." Flames appeared on the frozen river. A black furred head came out the flames.

"Ken, watch over them while I'm gone. You guys can get some fish from the river, I'll be back in a few." Before anyone could speak she was gone. Ken walked across the thick layer of ice but it soon melted away once he was on land. Ken sat down looking at them with pircing gold eyes.

"You can eat. That's the reason I melted the ice for you Soul Reapers." He stretched letting out a yawn before laying down, as he did the snow around him melted showing the green grass.

"Do what you want, Soul Reapers. I'm taking a nap, don't wake me up for something meaningless." That was the last thing he said before laying his head on his paws closing his eyes falling asleep.

'He's nothing like Cherī!!' Cherī's fellow lieutenants thought looking at the sleeping wolf.
